Does anyone know of any other reason for grinding out more Pilot prestige other then to go into deep space? IF so pls share what you use it for. Pilot Prestige is xp you get as a Master Pilot.

I dont see any other reason for it other than to keep people from jumping in and out of deep space to "clone zerg" i guess.

I've heard rumors, that you use Pilot Prestige to buy Capital ships, so your pretty set on Prestige

Those rumors started in "what to do with prestige" threads. Devshaven't mentioned anything at all about acquiring cap ships.

owning a capital ship sounds great..but would it really be? I've only a few times had a crew in my decimator..i wouldnt want a star destroyer with 5 people on it. I think it sounds better to have more capital ships up there that pilots can dock with though, maybe get new missions and all that fun stuff...but thats a different post.

One merely has to analyze the word to figure out what it might possibly signify...
I mean, when they were developing JTL, why did they just not make a Privateer/Rebel/Imperial Pilot xp and be done with it? Also, the word "Prestige" equates to reputation.
Sure, prestige is required to enter DS, but I'm sure another route could've been pursued to have made that moot.
Personally, it'd be nice if Prestige were at the very least linked into grades. If you're past 100-200 million, you shouldn't be on a level playing field with someone who popped the Vette and just uses their yacht for free travel now...
Also, as I've said before, now that the old "we nerfed the reward L6s and L8s because they were unbalanced" thing seems to not be an issue anymore (what with 90 and 100+ SW engines), I suggest bringing back the rewards using Prestige and Faction as currency.
And to quell the shipwrights, enable specific KSE discs to be bought this way as well.

That's all good but I was asking if prestige was evergoing to be worth something, such as faction points. I knew what it meant or I would have started withasking for the definition.
