Doing the Tier 2 mission on Lok for Lady Viopa where you need to steal the information from the "stranded" lambda shuttle. Well after finding the damn thing fluttering around a full 5k away from the target waypoint I managed to disable and scan it. Inside it contains "Ship Signature Data". Seeing how this is the ONLY shuttle present, I dock with it and pluck the data from it. Seeing no more use for it I vape the thing and head back to Lady V. Gigglign like a giddy schoolgirl only to find that she feels I haven't accomplished my task. Dejected and irritated I abort and retake the mission, opting to start from scratch. It took several tries from this point because the damn shuttle would hyper from the area while I was 5 frigging km away from it. Eventually I snare it again, and for the sake of testing I fly out to the waypoint, nothing happens, so I shoot TIEs for a while and then head back. On my way back I see the same shuttle farting around right where I left its baby brother crippled and pleading for mercy. So with a sinister grin I proceed to heckle this shuttle with severe and malicious intent. Once again after dispensing great hurt and embarassment on the imperial navy, I rob the poor*censored* of their precious data and fly back to lok, my Y-wing laden with data. Once again I approach lady V. quivering with anticipation of completing this, only to find that the cruel, heartless*censored* still thinks I didn't complete it. So now here I am, sobbing at my keyboard, completely fed up and looking to my fellow pilots for advice on how to complete this accursed mission. I don't want to skip it. It's become far too personal for that. So any advice would be appreciated, thanks!
P.S.
Sorry for the lengthy post, I'm just fed up and bored

If I remember correctly, there is a spawn for a nother lambda shuttle right next to the WP they give you, but (as you have seen) when youscan them, they say "Self-destruct initiated" (or something like that). Once I found the right Lambda shuttle, I knock out it's reactor, docked, got the info, then turneed around and blow it out of the sky (errr.. space... whatever). Anyhow, itpopped up with a "MissionCompleted" message and I headed back.

hmm.. you know.. I don't think "Ship signature data" is correct. When you scanned it, did a message pop up and say.. "OK, this is the shuttle, now diasble it and get the data" or something like that?

Nope. And I'm pretty sure it isn't it either, but like I said it's the obly Lambda I've been able to find in the area. Given that it's respawning, I really doubt it's the one, but this is getting damn frustrating. Any idea on how far out I should be patrolling from the target waypoint? Please note the waypoint doesn't provide any message when I reach it.

There's a mission like this in the RSF. You have to scan a transport for something or other. I did the mission, and had the same problem. I figured out that if you scan the shuttle, and it doesn't contain what you're looking for. Blow it away. It will respawn a few minutes later. Scan again. Keep doing this until it has what you're looking for, then dock with it.
That should get you through it.

What I did after being frustrated was to go to the area where the wrong Lambdas were respawning and made a waypoint. (By the way, at 1000 xp a pop, I came back to that waypoint to built up XP pretty quickly since they are so easy to kill). Then I used the "c" key pull up a friendly and started cycling through the friendlies with the ' key until I got to a Lambda. Then I made sure it was not anywhere near the respawn area (the waypoint you created), then went after it. --- hmm does this make sense?

Heh well it makes some sense. I'll give it a shot and pray. Hopefully I'll find the damned thing. I think if I don't find it tonight I'll pester the CSRs again because something's gotta be borked *shrugs* Ah well, thanks for the help

Just sit at the waypoint you are given and wait. Eventually an Imperial Shuttle will hyper in with a TIE escort. Disable the shuttle, take out the escort thendock withthe shuttle (before it self destructs like all ships do). I had no problem doing this mission, nor did any of my guild friends. It requires patience because the shuttle spawn is a fixed spawn point, and is not triggered by your mission at all. Also, it is a race in that if other players are doing the same mission, only one can complete it, and the rest need to wait for the next shuttle. You can be griefed in this mission, where another rebel can destroy the shuttles as they hyper in, or while you are trying to dock with it, though they are your allies, so they shouldn't be trying to grief you.

If I recall this message correctly after collecting the data you don't fly back to Lok but are provided with a new WP to a contact that you have to deliver the captured data to. In any mission which required the docking to capture data/supplies there was usually a second leg for delivery. Check your quest log after your dock, this is probably the case and the reason you are failing is that you are "leaving the system" everytime you land.
ADDED: Just saw that you had completed the mission, congratulations... can you confirm if the above is correct?

Nope the mission is put up as successful after you dock, then if memory serves I got jumped by some TIEs, you need to beat that ambush then you head back to Lok to see Lady V. as per the usual.
