there was one e-mail that should have gone to everyone once they signed up but even people with correct e-mails didnt recieve it. Garva looked into it and found the e-mail system was not working so it was fixed and addressed. Only e-mail from this point on you should get is when you actually get into beta which you wont get until September or October depending on what betastage you get in

Yeah, as long as you went into your profile and bought everything up to date things should be fine. Nobody recieved a email.
The one thing what will be a good thing to check is your SWG fan club details http://starwarsgalaxies.station.sony.com/registration/register2.jsp make sure its all up to date also.
Theres a JTL beta sign up FAQ stickied at the top of these forums as well that provides alot of info.

Ok I'm 16 years old, so I couldn't just register for beta. I did however preorder a copy of JTL bonus edition. So even though I'm 16 I will be able to play beta with the disc that will be sent to me? Or did my dog jsut gain a new toy?

I presume by that stage (the stress test) that the NDA would have been lifted so I would think you would be okay. However I don't think anyone actually knows, unless a dev or mod would like to enlighten us ?

like the guy above said it depends on the NDA you cant enter a NDA contract if your not 18.
That said the bata for that is the "Stress test" (you can tell by the fact that its only 19 days long)
Personaly Ithink the real bata is just about to conclude.
so if the NDA is lifted (like it was for stress testof SWG) you should be cool.

I was wondering, do the Beta testers test on a special server, or do they use their current players characters on the same servers since we cannot see the new space content anyway?

Nope, there will/is a BETA server were people who are selected will be testing.
They might allow people to "use the frogs" (which is a statue that the devs place that allow people to instantly select skills some times on TC, get supplies, and add credits to their bank account). But one thing about JTLS, is that you don't need to have any ground based skills to get into a ship. So if you wanted to, you could create a new character and go right into the space area without doing anything on the ground. That is what I'm guessing will happen in Beta, hopefully the devs will do something to help people maintain their crafts will testing (free credits/shutting down the repair requirements every once in while).

They probably give the character X amount of Faction on both sides so they could go Imp, Reb or just stay Neutral. But I'm not exactly 100% on how the faction stuff works so dont quote me on that.

yeah, i'm hoping that with a seperate server they will do the frog thing, but you will not be able to get skills in shipwright or pilot so they can make sure the grind will work, but the frog would be for creds and resources so people wouldn't have to start from scratch
