We just mentioned that Play.com says:
Expansion Pack NOT compatible with US version of Star Wars Galaxies
They didn't mention that when I pre-ordered it a few weeks ago. If this is really the case, I'll have to cancel it and pay twice as much to import it.
Does this mean there will be a EU and US version of the expansion? Meaning literally everyone who was forced to import SWG last year (because the European date was months later) is again forced to import it for $29.99, pay $19.99 shipping and 19% tax?
Are US SWG's (I bought it at a shop in our country who imported them at the US release) really different from the current EU versions that are sold here?
We are able to play with both on all servers, in spite of your billing address (like WoW will)....
Could we get some clearance on this? Is this because of a technical difference?

same goes for me, I preordered JTL months ago at www.play.com.
but then I was watching my orderstatus, suddenly I see JTL they sell its not compatible with US version?
hell what kind of thing is this??
like many other european players 15 months ago we had to order our copy from other online stores, cuz none of the european online stores had the SWG game yet.
Am I also indeed forced to order JTL somewhere else from an North US online store, which will cost me double the price as I normal would pay for it with play.com
I hope it doesnt matter if I use an european version JTL over an US version SWG?
I mean there was NO difference when I and many many many other players have been playing Beta from JTL? Whether we have US version SWG or European version SWG.

I really hope thisis wrong...I pre order from Play.com about 2 weeks ago and this was NOT on the site at that time! just checked now and its in big bold letters at the top of the games description...
Please can we have some confirmation?
(and a reason why the euro version will not be compatible with the US version of SWG)

I definately want to know this too. I also per-ordered at play.com and just as in the_tWiStEr's case it didn't say that I couldn't use this version with the US version when I ordered it. If this is true and I have to pay twice as much to buy JTL I'm not sure if I will buy it at all. $50 + 19% taxes is a lot of money for an expansion.

Wow great, wish I had known this BEFORE I subscribed for another month. I came BACK for JTL and then we get this? Great, since I won't be able to import it.
I sincerely hope this is not true. I mean, how can the two differ?

Common sense says it is untrue.
For instance, does your US copy of swg allow you to be on a server and interect with people using a euro copy?
Of course it does.
Does a euro copy of swg patch differently to a US copy. No.
I have one of each, the updates come from the US login server which everone I fire up on patch day.
That would say there is no difference.
Also, if they are different for JTL, that would say that euro players of JTL would have to use different login sever, and seperate servers entirely from US users.
that again, simply isnt true.
So, I would say its complete rubbish, but an official answer would clear it up for everyone

What about the other way around, is the US JTL compatible with the European SWG?

I purchased SWG from play.com and it said that it was a UK version which i thought would mean that pricing for the subscription is in £ but its not.
I dont think that the there will be a problem.but an official response would be nice.

It's also very inclear to me, why this wouldn't work.
My US version works perfectly here, including european paying methods and such..
But why would they mention it so big and bold at Play.com? And explicit 'not compatible with'.

My guess is that they are trying to pimp the version of SWG that they sell. if you check the listing for SWG sold at play.com its says (UK)
in a way its a bit dumb cause by saying that they will lose customers.

That's quiet possible
Ordering a EU SWG+EU JTL = cheaper than importing JTL only at Gamestop for example.
That's why I'm anxious for a official answer
