Thread: So, Any chance that you will let preorder keys work for a bit until the retail box arrives?

It seems that I and quite a few others will be, ahem, screwed, because the retail version of their online preorder has not shipped yet.

A logical solution would be simply to allow people to use their preorder keys to access the live version for, let's say, five days, thereby giving time for orders to ship and to be received.

Other games have done it this way and it has worked out quite well.

Otherwise, those who ordered online will have to wait possibly several days to receive their retail version.

Sound reasonable?

No I doubt they will.

There were people who got the preorder kits without reserving JtLS.

What's the difference between preorder and retail? We should be able to use our preorder keys to access the live game!

Some people got pre-order beta boxes that game with a special key for beta and the flash speeder. That is the pre-order box / key. The retail key is for the game itself, all the pre-order key does is unlock the flash speeder now. Thats why..

that's so stupid. If you've preordered the game then you've already paid for it. Shouldn't have to wait for some "retail key" to be able to activate the game. EB Games still hasn't shipped my order so even though i preordered AND PAID FULL PRICE several weeks ago, I won't be able to play the game on launch!!!

Here's the thing: every preorder key is a unique identifier, and Sony must have them all in a list somewhere. What I'm saying is they could do what other games have done and treat those keys as 3 or 5 day prepaid cards or whatever, just let them be temporary activation keys for JtL with a short expiration. That would allow all those who have ordered the retail version to play while they wait for the distribution network to funnel all those copies of the game out to people who already have paid for them. After 3 or 5 days, if you don't put in a retail key, no more JtL. Very simple.

I say again: other games have done this and it has worked out quite well.

What would prevent you from cancelling your pre-order and getting a refund? That's the real reason.

EDIT: Sorry I didn't read the above post. That would make sense, but they probably still are not going to do it.

They have to do it,

It was advertised that INTERNATIONAL order would not get the beta cd before the release but would still get the flashspeeder if preorder by getting the cd at the same time as retail.

My Beta cd and retail is now heading to me and I will have to register it in a way or another.

Professionally speeking, SOE cannot dare to say that we can t get the speeder anymore when we have preorder.

It was very expensive to pre order in the US.

I'm still confused.

I pre-ordered JTL. I received my Beta CD a few weeks ago. Should I have received a pre-order box with a pre-order key before receiving the retail version? I haven't received anything since that Beta CD with the Beta Key. I'm just confused as to whether my pre-order key will come with my retail key...or if I still have to receivetwo seperate packages (pre-order box and retail box).

Most stores charge you when the preorder box ships. At least that's what EBGames did. I had to pay up front for all 3 copies of JTL when I picked up the preorder boxes in store.

Now I'm confused, again. I just logged in and it says I am eligible for a veteran reward. The only key I have been able to enter has been my beta cd key, which I used weeks ago.

I tried claiming it but it saidthe claimcould not be granted. Is this because I still have to register the retail version? I am assuming this is it because JTL wouldn't be enabled. However, I do have the flashspeeder. I was under the impression the beta cd key was different than the pre-order key.
