i find this to be a very bad idea... have you ever read about such details in the books ? and i must say senators only represented a crowd of people in the senate. politician shouldnt be able to "own" planets that is generally too lame

Even Star Wars movies dont like NGE....

Yoda: Twisted by the Dark Side, young SWG has become. The game we played, gone it is... Consumed by the NGE.
Mace Windu(us): The customers will decide SWG's fate.
Supreme Chancellor(Devs): I *am* the customers!
Tiggs wrote: NGE is here to stay.
C-3PO: [walking away] I feel so helpless.
"And so it is" said Bail Organa as he left.
So this is how liberty is crushed...... by the sound of Tiggs Paws.
"NGE your breaking my heart!" Cries Amidala

I'll miss being a TK

I oppose the NGE and support Holocron Shug and Q-3p0's dream of the way SWG should be!

"When Sony and Lucas set out, we said, ?How can we do this and not make another EQ?? We didn?t want it to be all about Luke, or combat, or lock our players into a class. So we created a system that would allow players to switch professions during the game, and there would be a lot of gameplay around making that change. If you want to go from architect to scout we?ve created a system to make that happen."

this feature would make me leave SWG because no planets in the starwars galaxy was actually owned by a guy (except maybe courescant that was controlled/owned by the empire?) so i would recommend this didnt even get worked on since it would ruin the game since some people would get too much power in the game

Politican's should own planets. Maybe space stations, but not planets.

soooooo so us poloticions get to control capitol ships or something..... also i think a great idea for rangers/explorers is that they can discover new planets, and then the poloticions can pay LOTS AND LOTS of money to the exploerers, and the poloticion can claim that planet, and become the governor or president or whatever.. than more polo's can come and make there own city's but they would only be mayors. u get teh idea........

This is what i think, I think only scouts or rangers should be able to go into "uncharted space" in this Uncharted space they can discover new planets! Now the ranger can either NOT tell anyone or like register it for colonozation! Now after it is registered for colonozation it can only be accesssed by a poloticion! The Poloticion can now set up a small outpost and register the planet, as lets say Kashyyk. He may then charge a fee for people to come here, and he pays a high percentage to the explorrer! The planet is now on the map just like any other planet, the only difference is the Poloticion controls the whole planet! The polotcion can also grant other polticions the ability to make More outposts, or take over his outpost, because its hard work watching over 12 outposts. When a poloticion owns a planet he is called "king" Queen" or "senator"!

Planets like Kashyyk can only hold villiages, but more advanced ones can hold more advanced citys. So this is a way Rangers, and Poloticions can become rich, its not easy by the way to find and control planets. HIGH maintenance fees, wide range to cover, PLUS most of space is just space debris and the like, uncharted territory is dangerouse! Anyway thats my two cents, feel free to contradict me.. if u understand

I'll give you points for effort, but I don't think it would be a fair or enjoyable experience to 99% of the people in the game.

where in that post did he mention "capitol ships"? shouldnt this post be called "planets " instead.

anywhoo, i think this is a bad idea atm....the exploration would be nice, but if every ranger/explorer discovered a planet, it would require tremendous amounts of work to make em all. a nice dream, but unfeasible.

politicians ought to have the ability to control space stations and outpost, as for planets, thats going way to far.

Unless Rangers get "planettrack" I think it's pretty absurd to think that they somehow have magic planet sensing abilities. If nothing else a master pilot with a high experimented astromech should have the best chance of finding something new.

Also, a player owning a planet just seems to invite abuse. People already squabble over POI's which they can only kinda control. Imagine some powergaming jerk controlling an entire planet...not a good scenario.

Actually, Han Solo won Dathomir in a game of Sabaac, I believe.

Going to WoW.

This game blows.

I would never criticize someones idea unless its totally bad, or not doable. Sorry to say it but this could not be done. Think about it this way, it takes a long time to make a planet in the game. They would not be able to make enough to make this idea pan out. As well it would probly take 10 minuts to find 50 planets....... you could not make space big enoughto prevent this either. As well this game is not a strategy game in the sense.

Then we get into continuity issues. Do you think you could just fly up to a planet and say "Hey everyone your all under my control, sorry" It just isn't going to happen.

Also the main drawback is there isnt going to be planets in SE....
