In the starwars movie space was fast, the battles faster. Why is jtl so slow? I feel like im driving a x34 sometimes.
Space suppose to be for the fast and the furious. Super quick turns and spins. This will add realism, because great pilots would stand out. As it is in real life. NOt everyone can be an ACE.
Speed would add excitment to space. And some missions or planets that require a ACE or great pilot to fly u to should be in the game. Didnt Obi wan hire HAn to fly them somewhere?
It should be the same in JTL.

What are you flying? I see you have 2 posts, but have been around since last year. Are you just starting out as a pilot?
If so, it gets a lot better. I have a ship that gets going over 900 wihtout boosters and with boosters over 1200. The beginning ships are nothing to compare the speed to as is nothing in the beginning space zones.
It'll speed up. Believe me.

yeah it gets pretty quick later on, once you find an engine over 80 speed in a 1.0 speed modifier ship you might even think it's too fast. hehe.

*starting out pilot* do weapons get much faster too?
like in the movies, did you see TIEs shooting one shot at a time? If I remember correct, they shot lots of shots at a much faster pace.

They get a little faster. The thing with JTL (and what I don't like) is there is no stutter fire. Everything is linked fire. One reason everything looked like the shots were coming out so fast in the movies is due to the stutter fire. The shots alternated. With JTL if you have one gun slot and it is on the left and right side of your ship, both fire at once (linked) instead of alternating (stutter).
But the firing gets a little faster. As things speed up with the newer engines and ships you will get you'll notice the gun speed a lot less. Plus as you geta higher number of guns on your ship it will be even less noticeable.

i've been a master pilot for a while now and i think it is too slow, i spent some time making a really fast a-wing but even at 1660 speed it didn't feel fast enough in combat, i think the speed of guns really need to be increased, the ai of npc ships still sucks to slow and predictable.

jeez, in my interceptor going around 1400 i think it's rediculously fast. maybe not from point A to point B, but when i get into combat i'm spinning circles around ships it's so fast.
i do agree the guns are slow though, i've been trying to get a fast gun lvl 5-9 with speeds lower than .3, but i don't think such a thing exists.

Wasn't JTL PvP fixed? Or is it still 1-2 shot kills, no matter the weap/shield etc.? Any way, I myself am so far happy with the weapon speeds, but adding an option for linked OR stutter fire would be greatly appreciated.

Seriously, after a couple matches against an A-Wing (or Advanced or Interceptor, for our faction-challenged friends), you'll be lamenting anything over 800 speed. It really starts to feel out of control once you're above 1200 or so and your opponent's whipping around at the same rate.

SOmebody needs to get out of the protoype or teir 1 ship with the crappy looted L3 engine or something.

I think part of the reason why space can feel slow is because the planets are fixed into the background, so you don't have a very good point of reference for moving.
