I'd rather see the current ships working (Y-8 anyone?) and overall - balanced before adding some more prequel rubbish.

Crixx, Xicrx and Crixxorian Darkmoon - Rebellion, Corsec and Imperial Ace Pilots respectively.

"There's no sensation quite like learning to fly. Tounge-tied and twisted, just an earth-bound misfit, I." -Pink Floyd
"One/two shot PvP is good because this is a game of EVASION. NOT ABSORBTION" - Big mean heartbreaker.

the last thing we need is another relic that trumps the GCW ships. all the crafted ships need to be beefed up to ROTW standards first.

I personally would like to see them in game. Why not? This is Starwars right? Its a Starwars ship. Wouldent bother me. The time line is already so far out of wack I dont think another ship is gonna make much difference. But I do agree, they should fix the existing ships before they go adding more.

Adding yet another thing outside the Ep4-Ep5 timeframe isn't going to improve continuity. They should make all the prequel ships outdated crap so at least it would fit in with things. Jedi Starfighter? Sure. Too bad it'son par witha headhunter...

There is no reason a ship with technology 30+ years old should be able to compete with anything that is the child of 3 decades of technological advances and innovations.

I think we need fewer ships from the prequels, not more. There are plenty of ships left to be added. Ships that were commonly used at this stage in the timeline. Let's add those, not artifacts of the past.

Well first things first. It doesn't need to be an old relic from the original fleet. Itwould be quite possible to reintroduce these old models bysaying that they were built by a new company thatspecializes in buildingoutdatedclassic shipsbut with up-to-date equipment and capabilities. Some models just look to cool to be lost in the storm of advanced technology. I agree that our current ships need to be worked on and that there is still a pool of timeline proper ships that should not be forgotten, but it's not something that should be ignored

It's clearly just the hull of the ship you are using. You are putting in your own engines, weapons, reactors, capacitors, etc....You are taking an old husk and outfitting it with modern technology. How does that put the timeline out of whack?

I pretty much am agreeing with the majority of the posters. Adding in "relic" ships doesn't help anything. If anything, they first need to fix the bugged ones, then bring the original JTL ships up to bar with the Clone Wars ships. Like slave said, the original ships, while older in the terms of SWG the game, are actually designs from many years later, 30+ on some of them. The advancements from that time span should make these the superior ships, or at least on par with those older "elitist" ships. Yes, I view the old ones as elitist, since the only ones they added (short of the ARC) were very rare ships. The Actis was for Jedi, so not every pilot would have had the availability of them. Same with Grievous' fighter. Notice in all of the "original" movies, 4-6, you don't see a single one of those ships flying around. That would tell me they are sub-par to the ones you do see.

One thing I wouldn't mind seeing, after they fix the original ships, is some of the Uglies. I know that has been brought up a lot. In my opinion, that should be the freelance ships, not these odd variants of Jabba or other smuggler ships. To me, a freelance pilot would be someone not funded by a faction, thus having to scrounge together ships on their own. And what better way then to buy some old broken down TIE's and Y-wings and melding the two together to make a functioning ship. Seems like that would fit more into the Freelance train of thought.

Not to say that I disagree with the gist of your post but, as much of the United States's military aircraft are essentially 30 year old designs its not that unreasonable. Hell the B-52 is expected to have a service life of well over 80 years.

I don't really want to see the JtL craft bumped to RotW standards, for two reasons. First, there's a lot more JtL to balance than RotW, not to mention that it would trivialize PvE. (Not that it isn't trivial for longtime pilots, but it would make things too easy on new pilots). Second, PvP wise, pushing all ships to RotW standards would make PvP too fast, I believe. We already have problems with lag, especially around any areas that have space terrain, like Station-Star 1 and Solar Phoenix 2 during the last Starsider PvP event.

Besides, the N-1 was supposed to perform like a modern X-wing--however, they were hand-built and cost waaaaaaaay more to build than the T-65.

The N1 were made on a 1 by 1 basis by the Royal Engineers. There were never many of them, and they were never produced in scale. There's enough pre GCW stuff ingame as it is, we should be looking forward or sideways, not backwards.
