Thread: Got a question...

Ok today for some reason the bounty hunter missions i was doing were always placing my marks on hard planets. Well for example i try to stay in the difficulty range of 9-12 right now since i dont have BH Pistol 1 or BH Carbine 1 yet. And i do my BH missions in Keren right now. Last night most marks were on easier planets like Rori and such. But today all of them were placing my marks on planets like Yavin 4, Lok and Dantooine to name just a few. Sometimes the pay of the mission wasn't barely enough to cover the cost of travel or just not make a profit.

Now i don't know about you other bounty hunters out there but i don't do anything unless it's for profit. And these missions just did not add more to my bank account.

Guess that's why i don't PvP. Someone walked up to me the other day and chalenged me. I said i'm sorry i don't PvP. And you know why? There is no money in it. Now if i would get 5k or so for knocking this guys block off then sure i would have done it.

Thanks

You're doing BH missions without having essential BH skills in carbine/pistol/llc?

And by the sound of it, you have at least Investigation2. Props to you if this is the case.

I haven't done a BH mission since getting Investigation 1/2 so I couldn't tell you about the marks going to hard/easy planets. I would assume they would be random.

I recently droped ground Rebel so that I could go Imperial. I also drop my Smggulers Alliance skills so that I could pick up Imperial Pilot. When I walk upto the Imperial Pilot Trainer in Bestine, he says "I think your a wanted list..." Is this because I have -2000 Imperial FP? I would really like to get Imperial Pilot but I can't if I'm on his "Wanted list"

THanks for your help!

Yes, it is because of your -2000 Imperial FP. You will need to get rid of your negative FP before the Empire will trust you with one of their ships.

Hello Rangers!

/offers cookies

Please don't hurt me, I know there is a FAQ,but I wanted to get some fresh oppinions...

I am making a new character, and I was thinking of makeing her a ranger, and thats it for combat profession. After Master Scout and Ranger, the rest of the skill pointswould be tied up in Artisan and merchant stuff.

I am just wondering what kind of Damage she would do, as far as I can tell rangers get no kind of special weapon attacks or anything.. would I just be limited to the most basic attack?

Is it worth doing, or is it just a bad Idea?

You would die a lot.

You need to master a combat profession, or have a blend, to be any good in PvE.

Yeah you wouldnt do much damage. You could use a CL54 advanced laser rifle. But really it would be a horrid waste of points.

We are not a true combat profession. Just one that adds to your CL and HAM

BTW as you will learn from the Ranger, Scout forums and a couple other of the nicer places. There are no stupid questions. Please ask. Its the only place to learn. If we flame or fight back its because the person asked or begged for it. Other then posting in purple you didnt do anything wrong.

Why were you thinking Master Ranger? Maybe we can help find another template for you to do what you were after.

Well I am master ranger/master squad leader (another borked profession with no specials) and 1414 marksman. I really suck fighting solo. I can group with a pet and use my sl abilities but it really isn't enough when trying to solo critters of the samecl. I am really thinking about dropping sl and picking up rifleman but don't want to loose my good sl weapons. *Looks up* And what is wrong with purple?

Look at Rifle or BH. Since BH requires only Explore 4 and Ranged Support 4. You will have freed up more points for your artisan side if your still looking to twin your character artisan/fighter.

Nothing wrong with purple. Just fades into the theme I use for the forums. Really nothing wrong with it at all. (sulks away into the corner and hides)

You hit the nail exactly, you'd get one shot every 5 seconds or so, and it'd be ranged shot, the most basic attack. It's so basic you get it as a default even with zero skill points invested. On top of that, your accuracy would be so horrific that you'd find yourself missing with your one attack most of the time. Realistically you'd end up only being able to solo grey mobs and then you wouldn't get any weapons or combat experience for them.

Basically if you want to pick up two support professions, you better find people who really need that kind of support.

Thanks everyone for your responces.

The reason I was looking at Ranger was because I wanted to be something different, I have been all the other combat professions at one time or anohter so I though Ranger might be different...

But if its not a standa lone profession, I dont think it will be a very good idea.

I'm on my second assignment from Beissa in Jabba's Palace for SA tier 3... the mission where you have to find the Witch burial grounds. The quest says to inspect and dock with a specific type of the witches, I believe it's the soldiers, to get the location of the burial ground.

I've done this many many times and twice I've found some type of location but my mission didn't update. It may have not been the type of location I was supposed to find, I'm not sure. But I've been doing it a long time and I'm becoming skeptical that this quest is working properly. I know the recent publish broke some things but I only hear of problems with escort missions.

Anyone confirm/deny that this quest is working properly? Have suggestions for me? Maybe I'm doing something wrong.

Thanks in advance!
