Thread: This game is tough on me...

Man.... oh man! I dont know where to start. But, .... this game is just very tough on me. Its hard to accept the constant changes. I though I could but its really hard. I use to spend a lot of time reading about how things changed and new "tricks", "exploits", "bugs" and was always prepared and knew how to play according to every situation. Now, things are just changing faster then I can learn. Sometimes I manage to learn and overcome, but thats usually the same time around things change on me.

There was a time, when game mechanics where constant, and that was when template decisions and food storage was important. Now, I stock up on 1 food, patch goes live.... food goes to waist, skills need tuning, everything needs adjusting. Im not ranting about pub24, Im ranting about all publish in general. The constant change thats occuring. In the past things use to change but not this often, now its just overwealming.

I dont care about what state the game is, I can adapt to any state. Pre-CU was fine, Post-CU is fine you name it and I was able to adjust and have fun. But the constant change, over and over and over. I cant handle it anymore. I dont care if the game is broken, heck bring back client crashes just as long as the game stays the way it is. I will learn and adapt.

But let me give you an example. I make a template that can absord damage in PvE, right. I take into consideration all the foods to help with that template to further absorb damage. And then I find the proper approach to engage an NPC. Trial and error, trial and error. I learn. I improve. Then comes a change, for this instance the change is that the NPC has new attacks and it can now armor break me. boom!! I need to rechange me template and foods, to create a new recepy to deal with this PvE.

Changes like NPC snaring and rooting me is fine, but changes to NPCs that alter there defense and offensive power and attacks is a direct change to combat. If someone hits me for 1000, there are ways to deal with it. If someone hits me for 4000 there are also ways to deal with it. BUT one I need master def (for example) and the other (the 4000 hits) I need master enhancer (for example).

I mean I always knew that the DEVs kinda pushed grinding onto us and I never really got bothered by it. As a matter of fact I grinded a few templates for fun cause unlike many people, I believe that grinding is the key to learning.

But these constant changes are massive man. I know most of you are mad about the games current state, and I know some of you are keeping your cool and enjoying this game still. But regardless, doesnt it bother you guys the changes all the time?I dont caer what the changes are, but the rate by which they occur is what gets to me.

Anyways, this is not a "quit" post, this is not a "dev attack", its my little rant of the day.

Have a good day.

I dont think the game is tough but the constant change of the rules of the game is just draining the fun and game play for me.

The constant changes appeal to the casual gamer, thats how they make their money. hook you in, then every new player will usually try to grind out jedi which equals more money, devs dont care about gameplay, they care about making the game addictive in any way shape or form. you were all apart of the process, but now you realize how much this game sucks after you have grinded jedi, but its too late cus they got their money outta you. Thats just my opinion though, im one of the few who actually like the game cus of the pvp.

Well, what can I say. I unlocked pre-publish 9. You know those days for sure, (comp armor for jedi, saber tef and so on). PvP... well yea... pvp, that was fun.

See its not so much the unlocking jedi (for new people especially) that is the catch I find, its the change in skills (or what we refer to as nerfs) its the change in loot, its the change in NPC, its the change in pretty much everything that is disturbing. You know what SOE did with the CU (combat upgrade) is they changed an entire game that was live. News articles everywhere where talking about that saying how it had never been done before. Now the CU is ok, but thats my point, its that they keep changing stuff. Rather then balancing like for example (from 1500 heals, to 2000heals or from 6 seconds to heal, to 4 seconds or from 400 tick to 300 tick) you see what I mean? It turns into something new. Like the CU could of easily been called SWG2 and Im sure many people agree.

And to answer to what you say, by the DEVs doing these changes, they arent sucking us into the game, I personally feal push away. So its not true. (They might think they are adding nicotine to this game to addict us but they are adding rat poison instead. Someone mixed up the bottles :smileyvery-happy joke

With the constant changes how can anyone decide a template to go with? As soon as you gain a skill, it gets hit with the *nerf* bat.

Im gonna have to say that you cannot speak for the casual gamer, becuase you have in fact been here since pub 9.They are adding nicotine though, but the nicotine isnt intended for the people who have been here since pub 9 or for a year atleast. Its intended for the new accounts and thecasual gamers, cus they know they got most of the veteran players hooked in already along time ago when they kept renewing their accounts. So they know the majority of the veteran accounts will stay, because they dont know what to do without SWG. But thats just my opinion though, no pun intended.

I am and have always been a casual gamer and all I can confirm is the constant changes tomy current professionskills (especially thestealth nerfs) are tough on me... I am no longer addicted to this game as I once was but am a huge fan of Star Wars so I keep hoping that good changes will come and restore balance in the force. I amone of the last of a groupthat started up together orgot connected early on with swg. A lot of vets I know have left and it's rare I see a name I recognize anymore when I am on. My friend list has dwindled to almots nothing now.

The longer they don't fix issues with the Jedi profession, the less I play. I am now a less than casual gamer.... so I will start to speak for them soon.
