Thread: The longshot/conspiracy theory

Now, I don't remember who (almost postive it was Tiggs) said they were working up a way to affect the Jedi numbers. I also cannot remember if it was a HOC chat or a dev post. But, it was said. I'm sure there are several people that can verify it was said. Regardless, its not a sound theory (hell call it a conspiracy theory if you like), but a majority of theories are simply 'what ifs' anyways.

So, they've said they are working on ways to thin Jedi numbers. Constant nerfing, pub 24 seems to have encouraged mass cancellations.

There is also a character purge in the works, has been for months now. keeps getting pushed back, part of the reason was the guys that are overseas in the military. Last thing I remember being said about it was possibly happening sometime in October.

Who knows, what are the chances that right after all these cancellations, they institute the character purge, expecting their numbers to be bolstered by an influx of new players with the Nov 1st release of Episode III and ToOW.

There are rumblings of people on TC that went from 'glowy' to simply 'having a strong sense of the force' Most likely a bug, but who knows, could be a stealth nerf to the FS requirements (again, not likely). Making it more difficult to become Jedi.

Not trying to start a rumor, because I highly doubt this is the case.

/shrug

Wishful thinking.

Yes, I remember that very clearly. And you may be right. I've often wondered about that statement and also the statement, said around the same time, that Jedi would have new and powerful enemies... of course, that probably means the Devs ...

i think it was said at one of the fanfests if memory serves, also there was a rumour going around that one of the developers leaked the info about making jedi quit and deleting their accounts on the flycause they felt bad and SOE let them go over it,

Who knows, maybe after all the upheaval, thin the numbers they:

1. Tighten up the FS/Jedi requirements

2. Remove Jedi from the GCW and instill an underground Jedi war, that in some way/shape/form lets them still get involved.

3. Reinstill the FRS with the light/dark dealie.

4. Do the master/paddy thingy

5. After all is said and done, restore the power.

I might start playing mine again if they thin the numbers and do a few of these things.

Could be #1 thing on their list is to reduce the current population, along with reducing the influx of new ones.

While this would all be lovely, I think we can apply Ockham's razor here - the simplest explanation is often correct, that being: they screwed up.

But in all seriousness, folks, this does appear to be a concerted effort to either stop us playing our Jedi or to make us quit (the former being the most likely, as SOE loves $$$).

well, i personal believe that "rotation" is the word to describe the nerfs..

the devs are not targeting the elite proffesions totaly..i have a feeling and a theory that the devs are targeting ALL Veteran players!! ie those who started pre pub 9 and pre cu..

the reason: veteran players remember and thus has knowledge and info to criticize the devs new nerfs. they remeber when things where good/balanced and alot better, it is also the veteran player that stand up/resist the new nerfs the devs throw.

the outcome: by "rotating" the player base from veteran player to new, noob players. soe wipes the memorys of everyone and thus they can denie that pre cu and pre pub 9 every existed.

why communicate with the old player base when you can cleanse/wash and create a new player base full of peeps that dont know any different.

"lack of knowledge breed compliance"

kind regards

Those were awesome. Glad you get it, some of these clowns are too dense and can't figure out 'why anyone would use the name Turd?'

I'm consistantly disappointed in them.
