Thread: [BETA Expansion]also this time no test with jedi?
ok, I see.
This expantion is for everyone, not just jedi. Anyone is welcome to test it, from mr.nublet to OMG UBER LEET JEDI dood.
They may or may not put up blue frogs, and if they do they may or may not have jedi skill builders in it as well. Wait and See
however, they say that this expantion is for high lvl people, so expect character transfers or skill builders.

They need to not forget about eclipse who has been shafted from the last 3 of its scheduled tc servers.When ever they have a server i am always on . And eclipse has the best turnout by far.

Well the devs released a list of servers showing which server will get to test which publish. If I remember correctly, they chose only 5 servers and they are the most heavily populated servers which they need to get the best test results. If they included servers with a low population, then majority of the testers would be freshly made noob characters and many people don't want to start from CL1 on a test server. Since the devs don't usually drop frogs for the first week or two, they would not have anyone testing because of it and so they'd rather have heavily populated servers for testing as people will already have high level toons which they can simply log in and go to testing.
As for beta testing with jedi in the obi-wan beta, I think they will allow jedi to do testing. The expansion may be for everyone, but they way SOE is advertising it, it gives me the impression that it's primarily for jedi. EVen if it's not primarily for jedi, there are so many jedi now days that it simply wouldn't be a good idea to exclude them from beta testing, especially since jedi seems to get more and more broken or weakened with every pub. If the devs want anyone with a jedi toon to be happy at all, they will need to allow jedi to have the ability to test the expansion with their toons since that's what many of use will be using to do obi-wans missions.
I do have to say that I am very disappointed by the fact that any player can have access to do obi-wans missions though. He is a blue glowly and from my understanding, only certain jedi can even see or hear blue glowies. No normal character should be able to see him or take missions from him. A primary example is at the end of ROTJ where luke saw anakin, yoda and obi-wan's blue glowies yet none of the ewok's, leia (and she was in her early days of force sensitive), han, 3po, R2 or anyone else saw the blue glowies standing there. Only luke ever saw them or heard them, yet the devs are allowing any ole character in the game to enteract with them. So once again, there goes canon out the window.
Don' t get me wrong, I don't want to exclude normal characters from any content, I just think the devs could have put another npc who is still living in this time period which they can get their missions from. I just don't think they should be able to talk toor see obi-wans blue glowy when they are not even jedi.
In case anyone wants to know where I got the info about everyone having access to the obi-wan, one of the devs said it in last months HOC chat when answering someones question about it.
