Thread: SOE needs to fly Glzmo out there and give him a job as head developer
I cant say i agree, fair enough Glzmo's ideas are good, but they show no concern for both the resources needed in order to implement them, both in terms of coders, server space, code maintenence, or time needed to implement it.
If you were to implement the part where Vader lands in the lamda shuttle would require :
- Permission to use Vader in this way from Lucas Arts
- A way to solve the possible lag issue with vaders area Choke + root
- There would have to be a code that makes sure Vaders attacks bypass AI
- There would also need to be a code that made sure only jedi lost jedi xp
- A code to that every single time someone uses /duel to check if they are jedi, and if they are using force powers or a lightsaber
Now permission from Lucas might be the easiest part of this, but to code the rest :
1. is a coding nightmare
2. would cause so much lag that we would all be lucky to even be able to load into any NPC city, in under 30 minutes.
So basically if there are 10 people dueling in say theed, the system would have to perform 10 checks to see if they are jedi, then 10checks to see if they are using force powers or lightsabers , then check on all the differentNPC city's if there is already a spawn of vader,and then eventually spawn him.
Basically Glzmo's ideas would make an awesome game, well providing that you have unlimited money for servers, developers, coders, and so on, and even then it would most likely lag every single player straight out of the game. Its a perfect example of what would becool but is impossible.
lol i think coding is not an issue , the major issue with SWG....
1st and foremost cauz its been since almost day 1 , they are simply not listening to the fan base. Its pretty obvious to me that if this wasnt Star Wars i would have left after a week and never looked back. I really wonder whos giving these great ideas to the devs but for sure they arent coming from anyone i know...

Not that many have spoken out against him, but seriously its silly. He may continue to post ideas, but I think its pretty obivious that they aren't liking/listening.

thats the problem,he is to dedicated for them to have in theire ranks,good solutions arent welcome in that club
