But i'll be staying......

My Jedi was unlocked 04/20/04 (pre 9) after mastering 31 professions. Durning that time when I unlocked we were rare and respected by the community which is unfortunate most current playing jedi will never experience. Keep in mind I did not do afk crafting macro's but will admit to afk'n dancer, musician, and entertainer.

It took 5-6 months to complete my template and had to be grinded by myself without the assistance of others. First part of my grind I was able to wear armor which was a blessing during the grind. Saber tef was very difficult then because when you lit up your saber, everyone had killing rights on you for a 5 min tef. If you died BH or not you lost jedi xp.

I know what im saying when I say the current grind is much easier than the old "Hologrind". I have (2) one pre 9, and one village grinder which both are complete in templates. I recently started my 3rd jedi toon and fully intend to lvl him as well. I have lost MANY friends due in part SOE's decision to open the flood gates to our profession. Fact is if they had kept the hologrind their would not be this many jedi.

Being an old timer in this game I have figured out (excluding the current publish for SL) most updates are for Jedi or Bounty Hunter. These are the 2 biggest professions in the game and I fully understand SOE is going to take care of the majority. Since knowing this I play both professions and reap the benefits of every publish.

Playing the Bounty Hunter character I can honestly say the jedi I have beaten simply were not prepared. I hear this from them in pm's explaining how they couldn't retrieve foods from crate's etc.... In addition most are simply out in the open involved in guild war's, overt, or just plain out dueling in major star ports which this WILL GET YOU KILLED! I know the jedi grind is different from normal professions but it does not give us the I pwn'd all button folks.

Learn your templates you have chosen.... always keep stims and ruby available..... and by all means watch those little icons under your name and your opponents name to know when to engage and when to counter or reapply your buffs. Reserve your force pool and keep additional foods and booster blue in your inventory. Wouldn't hurt to have a holocron set up in your toolbar too. The days of hitting a bounty hunter with a kd and a 4-5 combo special are over.

I will not be going anywhere for my grind and template took ALOT of hours to complete. In 3-4 months down the road another publish will come out and will make us uber again.....

Get a clue it's a never ending cycle to keep you grinding (changing templates for nerf's) which keeps $'s in SOE's pocket....

May the force be with you all...............

Better yet -- they never shoulda introduce the holos. Should have left it the way it was to begin with.

Your kidding right? When people play this game a vast majority (no all mind you) play this game with the intention of being a Jedi. Rather they power grind or slowly knock out professions after 2 years they will eventually unlock. It is inevitable. No matter what system you have in place anyone who wants Jedi will get Jedi. It is easy to grind out 32 professions, especially if you have the money to buy resources for the crafting professions.

People are so proud of themselves because they unlocked pre-9, maybe they fail to realizethat although it may have taken them 25-32 professions that was not always the case. I like the current system better (except the set badges, I think they shoud be random and not faction related) it provides everyone with equil opprotunity to get Jedi.

13 months to unlock Jedi $194.87
6 months to become "Full temp" $87.96

Having SOE take it all away in a single patch...Priceless

hologrinding was a bad idea to begin with... no jedi in existance of the SW realm got there by training to become a master dancer, master artisan, or even a master image designer... the holo grind was in no way related to star wars or it's story. it was an utter lack of content and though the new system lacks it as well, at least it is more so than the old system.

though by the time the system was changed people had found macros to grind a profession in a 2-4 day time period. the change actually slowed the amount of jedi though not enough to the pre-9's liking. the exclusive jedi were for a very limited time and should know this even if the system hadn't changed.

it's true that most people disliked grinding diff temps and that worked as a deterent for jedi. and it's also true that people are becoming jedi more now because they can keep their current favored temp in the meantime.

i don't think that jedi population control is needed with the nerfs that are constantly making us a standard elite class. but i do feel that if these nerfs continue to make us "balanced" and the same level as the rest of the professions that we should have the same exp requirements. not being forced to grind 10x the amount of xp to get jedi nor have to go through the village to get it.... all this work and now there is no reward. we are not stronger for this effort we have made. and it seems as though all we get is a weak weapon with cool graphics and alot of bugs and problems.
