I have read you reply and can say it was very nice analogy. However it is one I will take very personally. I will give you my reply to yours in a "real life" analogy.

I had served the United States Marine Corps as a Force Recon Marine.

I was you basic "pawn" in the grand sceme of things.

I was never an officer nor had the knowledge and power they did.

However, my unit and I made a request to a Commanding Officer much like your Stephen King analagy.

Please consider rethinking what your are doing. While from your point of view it looks like a good thing, you have not been through the terrian yourself, nor do youunderstand the hands-on complexities of what you are asking us to do. We are a loyal unit and will follow orders, but we feel the need to notify you of some things......

Talking to 5 of my friends families after coming home was one of the worst experiences in my life.

There are times when the people actually experiencing something even though they did not "Plan and design" stuff have an insight that should be listened to.
