Thread: New and need some template advice :)
Hi I am relatively new to jedi and am looking for some template advice. I was so disgusted with the tunes of my had earned pearls and crystal that I am considering no sabers at all. Option number one for me is Master Powers/Master Enhancer 4040 heal. Speaking with guild Jedi about this seemed to generate laughter.
Now if I go sabers then I want to go the whole way (MLS) and it has been suggested I might need some defender so.....how about MLS/ 4004EH/ 0400Pwrs/ 4000 Heal/ 0040 Def
Its really been a head scatcher for me so far. I love powers but was told that even a crap saber at MLS is better. I want to be able to quest and avoid the wrath of BHs too. Perhaps MLS/MEHancer?

Powers is better against BHs, IMO, but horrible against other Jedi....well, not HORRIBLE, but just not good. I've found that you can't be effective w/ Powers without a stronge Defender take. I just wouldn't take Powers unless it was all the way to Master. Probably the best Master box for Jedi in the game. (Choke/Area KD/Breach)
MPowers/MEnhancer template seems really cool. Force Armor will help w/ the lack of Defender and you get stasis and you'll get to run like the wind. Just remember to turn that force run off during combat or you'll wonder why you're doing crap for damage.

I ran this template during the respec' craze some time ago. I know a lot of things have changed, and this is a great crowd control template and you'll smoke Bounty Hunters. The is of course a but, and it wasquite a "big but" if you'll forgive the double entendre - other Jedi were impossible to beat (note that this was when Force Breach did not work - it does not, but from my understanding what ever you Breach off can just be re-applied instantly... how this works in PvP now I have no idea but it may be useful in PvE now that NPC's are using Force Powers...).
Now, if group play is your thing and you want to sand a good chance when Mr BH comes to call, AND you are willing to accept that you will suck badly in high(ish)-end PvE, will run out of force VERY quickly and will die a lot in 1v1 Jedi, then go for it.

There's a reason why all the templates are variants of the above ones. It has nothing to do with "Fads". Certain Jedi combinations are only effective when coupled with other disciplines.
Getting Cloak and MLS to work together is a tough one.
