Thread: Fair Solutions to Loot camping for Jedi Robes and other non-jedi items.
In the hopes that Helios, Blistex or Rogue5might be reading this, I really hope you consider some of the following ideas i'm about to express.
Well the cat's out of the bag when it comes to the new robes. THere are certain quest mobs that you can kill to loot the new robes. The respawn timer coupled with the eagerness of groups to get these new items for all their memebers is leading ot heated situations on some servers. Let's not forget about the people that have no intention of camping , but just want to finish the quest they are on.
Something needs to be done to prevent this camping from ruining what has been a good expansion in most folks eyes.
Possible Solutions
1. Quests that lead to Named Boss Marks, which can drop robes should be changed to unattackable to anyone outside of the quest holder. The NPC should not spawn until the quest holder is there. Change the loot so that there is a guarenteed drop of a robe on each kill. This might lead to multiple (XoS) for example spawning at once. That's ok as long as each remains unattackable to everyone but the quest holder and their groupmates.
2. IF the first plan cannot be implemented then we need to bring some order to this spawn camping. Implement a "Waiting Que" for anyone that enters the immediate vicininty. Upon arrival of xxx Meters of spawn area the person will get a message asking if they wish to get in line to kill the mob. Not quite sure how the system would differentiate between solo and group players as far as their place in line if their group status changes. That is open for discussion. Once a person has accepted their place in line they cannot attempt another entry into the waiting que until all immediate players have had a chance.
3. Instance the entire area where each of these mobs spawn. Make it similiar to Necrosis. There was nothing wrong with that system. Bh might complain, but tough luck for them. We are here to do the content, and not grind. THey have no right to disturb people doing quests like these.
Players should not have to compete with Loot campers who are just trying to make a quick buck off selling these items. We paid for this expansion also and deserve a fair shot at them.

Waiting a week will not be the solution. Did people quit doing the Necrosis runs after a week? No. Since it was a replayable source of loot people kept looting him. Granted he was instanced, but that is not the point.
Since these items are sources of huge money right now people will continue to camp these areas day and night.
I'm just glad I'm not a big server for a change.

I wish that was the case. I can assure you, the loot campers will not disperse. Just look at the POIs that have all been nerfed as a result on the original planets.
I completely agree with the original post.
There will be some who say that loot camping is 'working as intended' but I never bought that argument.
Something that would really fix is the game is to elminate the loot drops altogether from non-mission spawns. This is harsh and extreme, but it would kill the loot-camping economy and force people to group or solo, do missions, earn the rewards, etc.
I am so tired of seeing the same campers AFK looting.

Kursk dropped the robe 3 out of 3 times for us at a respawn timer of roughly 45 minutes.
Im sure in 2-4 weeks vendors will be flooded with them.
hopefully they will make it so when you spawn a mob on a mission it is only lootable by you.
i was on a quest last night and had to speak a female npc who would then attack you after you asked about a crystal,i was grouped at the time as a few of us were helping each otherout with quests. after the fightone of the group who didn't have the mission must havehad a loot macro going as they looted my quest npc before she'd even hit the floor.
the guy who looted it is a top bloke normally so i didn't say anything, but i can see this causing serious aggravation if people have missions to do and people can loot steal their npc mission.

i totally agree, id like to be able to do the quest and gain my rewards without a ton of afk campers using the content to make a fast buck, and ruin the game for everyone else.
