Thread: FRS would be nice if...
The new FRS would be really nice if you could pick and choose individual skills rather than have them defined for you in a certain progression tree.
If they made skill selection the same way they did in the the JK games, I would be super happy. Each level you advance in the FRS would give you a choice of one skill to learn (have a choice from existing skills you don't already have). You could spread out your skills evenly by choosing basic abilities/attacks, or focus all your concentration on gettinga fewimproved skills.
And like Kyle Katarn said, "no skill is good or bad . It depends how you use it." A light Jedi could learn his pick of Cloak, Choke, Force Run, etc, without having to spend skillpoints on those professions if he didn't want to. If he wanted a master level ability, he would still have to learn at least two or three other abilities from that profession first, though.

How do you know the ETA wasn't delayed forever?
Stick to the points no sense in fighting if it comes back it comes back if not the game will die in 2007 anyway, they have roughly 18 months to reinvigorate this game or STO will deliver a DB to SWG

To that I agree wholeheartedly. Not because of any particular game on the horizon, but because there isn't a defined tie-in that can be foreseen. They (sony) have hung their hopes for this game on GL's movie releases and promotion byproxy. When that dries up, what happens?
This game surely can't fall back on its laurels. What exactly does it have?
