After losing market share, conductingblind test tastes where Coke drinkers picked Pepsi in 1984, Coca-Cola release "New Coke" on April 23, 1985 with much fanfare. The "New Coke"was a formula that beat Pepsi in blind taste tests. Coca-cola was convinced that "New Coke" would be solution to retaining it domination of the cola market.
Coca-Cola had expected that would alienate about 10%faithful coke drinkers, but they expected this to eventually fade away. Coca-cola had printed a toll-free consumer information number on all their products, this alerted them immediately to the true extent of thediscontent. It give them the information to react quickly, and bring back Coca-Cola Classic. Consider where Coca-cola would be if it hadn't listened.
SWG obviously has been losing it's market share, it introduced a "New SWG" with much fanfare. The "New SWG" was a formula similar to it's rivals (WoW), it was expected to alienate some of it's faithful players, but was suppose to be the solution to retaining some of it's market share....
SOE might want to start listening to their customers, to find out the true extent of the discontent, to get the information as quick as possible, and be able to react appropriately (bring back old SWG).

Coke was worried about the infamous taste tests. Pepsi is sweeter so people prefer it when they only get a small sample. Extended taste tests, where people drink the hole can as they usually do, favored coke.
Also many think the New Coke thing was a publicity stunt. Which if it was it was pure genius.
For more information on New Coke and Soda Taste Tests read "Blink" by Malcolm Gladwell!

Here we go again, another pre and post CU argument. If you haven't read, pre-CU is NOT coming back. Move on please. How many times does it need to be said.
