no idea where to post this, but with the MDef Ai avoidance in NPC AI, got me thinking of NPC AI of past and a lot of the nuances that we have lost, seemingly as though everything lost its brain after the first month of the game.

SO.... ( and i dont mean a random unleashing of abilities )

What other NPC AI would you like to see implemented to keep things behaving differently to each other?

1- NPC Healers actually HEALING their groups again.

2- Some low level things like durnis should RUN AWAY if shot at, esp if intimidated.

3- Small things like Baznitches should have a +cover+ when over 10 meters away from a player

( could be linked to flora resources level)

( and able to move while in cover skill)

to simulate vanishing into heavy foliage.

- but something on Tat for example wont be able to hide as its barrenand no foliage to hide in( except maybe snakes under the sand)

4-( in relation to 3)They should also hunt similar to the velociraptors in Jarrasic park, with one staying visible to lure you in while 4 or 5 others run in cover to the side and ambush you. ( with cover being broken when they attack, but after the attack they run off again to get another surprise strike in).

( other things like kwis should also exhibit this pack grouping behaviour and not all rush together for the standard 'pile_on' schoolyard fight)

5- Force sensitive NPC should use force skills at appropriate times.

6- Higher level ranged NPC should try to stay at range.

7- Troopers and similar should run back to bases to actually call in reinforcements instead of standing there mildly saying ' call in reinforcements' text bubble.

8- not everything should retreat, those days when a nightsister ranger would follow you for miles and quite quikly was scary and added a 'shall i attack them' angle to things

thats some to start with

I have always been for letting NPCs behave more like players. That is if an NPC is rolled to have doc then let him heal and use infusion etc. If he is melee make him use CoB, Snare + kite if he's ranged and so on. Using all the abilities that a player with a similar template. It would make for a lot more interesting fights then simply oversize his healthbar.

It seems the latest changes on ToOW is heading in this direction, but haven't tried it out myself yet.

Rancors should pick you up, bite your head off, throw your corpse on the ground, stomp on it, then laugh.

--- Cancelled 24th November 2006
Reason: The lack of multiplayer pve content and Star Wars feel.
For 3 years I have tried to find excuses to stay in game but only the expansions offered me what I subscribed for in the first place: A multiplayer Star Wars pve experience with friends around the globe. I found friends but with almost no addition of pve content they dropped out one by one. Now it's my turn.
