I've heard different opinions. some say both won't work at the same time and others say they will. ????

I want to find the morons who keep saying they won't work together. That way I can give them some good template advice...
Nov Artisan, Nov Brawler, Nov Marksman, Nov Medic, Master Scout, Enh 0004.
Then they can run around and be uber.
No offense to the OP, but really... you should not need to ask these kind of questions here. Look for the guy dueling in Theed. See he is using Armor and Aura... Now why would he do that if they didn't work together?

They do, and to answer up a possible follow up question:
Force ArmorFCs are taken into account before Aura mitigation, the same goes for Defender + Force Armor.

And yes, MDEF ENH x4xx mitigate quite a lot of damage if your wondering. About 20% more than what a MDEF would mitigate alone.

To be exact, mdefender has 70 innate armor, FA1 gives 20 innate armor, FA2 40, so mdef with FA2 would be 110 innate which is over the cap, but still, nice defense!

WRONG!!!
MDef = 70 inate = 7000 armour = 52.5% resist
Mdef + FA" = 100 inate (cap) = 10,000 armour = 60% resist armour
The gain is 7.5%, which is a fair bit off 20%
1000 = 10.5%
2000 = 20.0%
3000 = 28.5%
4000 = 36.0%
5000 = 42.5%
6000 = 48.0%
7000 = 52.5% <---- Mdef
8000 = 56.0%
9000 = 58.5%
10000 = 60% <------ FA + Mdef
