Thread: Tuning Twice?

I tuned a crystal the other just now and after right-clicking on it it gave me the option to tune it again. I did, and neither tunes were good, but in the crystal's name it said "Crystal (Tuned) (Tuned)". I was just wondering wut was going on w/ that and if anybody else has ever had this happen...

Ive had this loads.
Tuning it more then once doesnt even do anything for the stats, you just get that weird name

I tuned one about 10 times once, purely for comedy value. Doesn't alter the stats in any way (if only it did, would probably take 10 tunes to get something with decent dmg)

I have 3 Crystals (tuned) (tuned) and retuning didn't change the stats. Which leads me to believe that those stats are predefined in the crystal itself as it is created and 'tuning' a crystal just makes the stats visible because it if was random at the moment it's tuned, then re-tuning would have changed the stats.

he he i got a crystal named "Crystal (tuned)(tuned)(tuned)(tuned)(tuned)(tuned)(tuned)(tuned)(tuned)"
this dosn't effect the first tune however.
the happens when you radial click tune over n over without clicking the OK button, thus create a load of confirmation windows to click OK on.

When servers were copied for TC I believe that people have tuned the exact same crystal on live and on the TC copy and got different stats on their tunes so they aren't necessarily pre-set. However, skill and luck have nothing to do with tuning so in reality it wouldn't make any difference if the stats were set when the crystal spawned or when the crystal was tuned.

How do you know it doesn't change the stats?
You can only tune an untuned crystal/pearl, and an untuned crystal/pearl has no visible stats. Once the stats become visible, you can no longer tune it. If you keep hitting "Tune Crystal" on the radial menu on an untuned crystal/pearl before the server catches up and replaces it with the tuned item, you can tune it loads of times - but you're never gonna know whether each tune was different because you will only see the final one.

Thats is VERY interessting from another point point of view tho.....
Either, the crystals you loot are "tuned" (programtechnically) already, you just "discover" the result by initiating the "tune" process
or
the second tuneattempt was simply ignored by the game, at least at the point where stats come in...
Too bad we cant check this by having a Jedifriend "retuning" our crystals (i bet he gets the same stats...)
The first version would mean, all this hype (shrine, buffed blablabla) is simply myth, doing nothing.
A funny thing:
I tuned 2 pearls for a friend the other day, logged in her toon, grabbed the pearls, didnt care about buffs and all myth, i simply tuned them. 97......
(Why i did that ? Cuz we played the "lemme tune em, i have the magic finger" game..
)
