damnit, I hate dialup...

Anyway...

Answer to bolded area. Because there are too many of us. Because there are too many of us that want it all handed to us. Because there are too many of us that want it all handed to us and whine when we have to work for things.

In summary, because there are carebears in this profession that cannot handle the difficult-o-meter set anything above "super-wussy-low."

Human nature, pride, and greed Many players want to be as powerful as they can be. Jedi in particular now has the debateable image of being this 'powerful endgame toon'.Many want the 'kill all' satisfaction of a single player game. Many don't like to lose, and react poorly when they do. One of theplayers I recently fought is on my servers board right now screaming 'exploit' and 'nerf' because he's had a few losses in a row. Many generalize and don't think about the huge demomgraphic of players, skill, and personalities involved. The false idea that "well, if one (insert class here) beat me, they all can...nerf em!" Every master class has thier kreetles and their rancors. Many in my experience don't look past the surface or think in the grand scheme of things.

And unfortunately in the end, it seems easier for people to rant and complain about their negative experience, rather than to offer up positive solutions for a better gaming experience. Now granted, there are some who have offered plenty of good ideas or solutions that have never made it into the game...that's a different discussion.

I've watched the boards since launch as well, and you're right. Same song...different singers.
