I am probably the epitemy of a post-cu jedi (not even as good as the better ones) as Menhancer, 0432 LS, 4020 Healing, 1020 Defense
587 dmg saber, 26 fc
yet, i beat all the quests on mustafar leading up to and including obi-won's
only one i couldn't solo was the history lesson because you have to kill those boss mobs
this is proof that post-cu jedi are good enough to at least do pve!

If you know how to play your template, and it works for you - then you'll be good at Jedi. Regardless of when you achieved it.

i dont think its about PvE though at all ...
I dont wonna relativate your post though at all but the major problem that still prevails is not the postCU Jedi being able to solo things in PvE.
The Point is as a postCU Jedi you usually do not have a 16-20(max) forcecost on their saber and you dont have the 650+ max damage (unless you tuned tons of pearls cause you had Billions of credits).
So in a duel agains a preCU jedi that is still using his damage experimentation saber with lot less FC then the postCUs have you are doomed to loosing the fight. You simply will run out of force before your opponent does. FRS is unactive so its not the major problem at this time but once JvsJ Duels will be important again and not just for fun the whining will start again and with a reason.
The statements above are though clearly just pointing out how the situation is in PvP - i have to agree in PvE the difference is far less immanent.

In PvE, yeah, we post-CU Jedi can get along ok. If an FRS is re-opened that will put you toe-to-toe against a skilled Jedi that gathered his pearls pre-CU, you will not rank.

I agree. saber damage aside, there's plenty of tricks all throughout our trees. Just a matter of finding a good temp that fits your play style and getting some hours logged in with it...and you're just as viable as a pre-cu in many areas. With me though, as I was climbing through my template, I didn't ever really find a middle ground. Seems like I went from being crushed 100% of the time to putting up a hell of a fight in the spawn of the last block or two. /shrug I'm not an incredible PvP player either, but I noticed a significant leap in attack/defense with some of the tier 4 and master blocks. Kind of an all or nothing ordeal in my experience. I've noticed a lot of folks that are really frustrated are halfway or 3/4 through their template, and I can sorta see why.

I am a post cu jedi and like -Phear- said it is just about knowing how to use your temp effectively against certain opponents. Although it does help to have a 600-650damage saber, i have 640 and am a competant PvP player. You must know what you are fighting and catch your opponent out using skill and knowledge
