I know it was discussed a while back, many seemed to concur. What did I miss that changed that?

Developers never said it.
Anything in this forum that doesnt come from a dev is rumour.
I believe they even shyed away from it in the live chat sticky.

frs is dead. it wont be around for a while and i think we deserve to have a hard date or timeline to make our decisions about suspending our games.

Defo....even NASA announced recently about there plans to return to the moon and beyond (Mars) even if they said in the next 20 years......its something. But here we keep paying £££ and .......nothing.

I hear that the FRS will take no longer than it did to get battlefields back in the game. Oh wait that could be a problem.

The devs don't do ETAs, they've said that repeatedly.
It doesn't matter what NASA says, they can't do anything until the government decides to allocate them the money. Actually, it's pretty similar to the FRS issue and the community.
Just keep your focus on how neat and shiny the new expansion is and kindly submit your credit card info.

Yup, but the chat I read (some stratics thing, I forget) they directly answered the question flatout that there are absolutely no FRS or pearl related changes in the ToOW expansion. One of the few times they answered something without leaving room for interpretation like they do in patch notes or on the forums.
That's not to say a patch couldn't come out around the same time, but they certainly could not fix pearls or add FRS for just the people who bought the expansion, that would be like making only the people who bought RotW have CU while the others were on the old system. Which was an equally idiotic rumor back in the day.

This suggests that the only reason you play is because you want to do the FRS.
I suggest in that case SWG might be the wrong game for you, perhaps try something else if all you live for in SWG is the FRS....

SOE have NEVER given a publish date! So if you believed the FRS would come with the new Expansion, you have listened too much to rumours.
My guess is December, but your guess is just as good as mine i think.

People saw "trials" "Obi Wan" and must have thought padawan trials...then thought, hey he's a Jedi Knight...it must be FRS!!!!
