Thread: I will pick up your SLACK
a) New jedi want to be able to have the same uber equipment as older jedi
b) Older jedi want something to compensate for having an oh so hard life
c) New jedi want the same CHANCE at getting the same ubar equipment as older jedi
d) Older jedi want to be set apart from the group becuase they are somehow better than others for being here earlier
e) New jedi would rather everyone be super elite, then everyone be normal. (hence why they are asking for premium and flawless drops again, instead of having the older sabers changed or decaying)
Don't you all beleive that the system of equipment should work like this?
10% of the community has lower end pearls/crystals due to lack of effort or need for better
70% of the community has average pearls/crystals due to the rarity and time needed for better
20% of the community has high end pearls/crystals due to a large amount of time and effort put into gaining the advantages.
everyone in the community has the same chances at getting the high end drops, so as to limit uneven STARTING grounds. What you do on your own time should define your 1337ness. If everyone has flawless pearls, then flawless becomes the norm. Don't you figure that there should be something above the norm that is very hard to get? and EVERYONE should have the same chance at getting that?
Solutions? remove ADK's from pearls adding decay. Then once most of the pearls are destroyed, everyone is on the same page, and everyone will have the same chance. Many of you wont like that, but lets face it. It is the only solution without raping the system of effort/reward.
this dilemma is the same as jedi yourselves. Jedi is above the norm, but it is much to easy to get. Thus, making the once uber class, the norm. However, no changes to the starting ground can me made to even this all out as it will disrupt everything. Basically, as much as I love this game, The jedi have finished SWG.
yes, my thoughts are all over the place, and you kind of have to fill in the blanks as i have a hard time explaining my own logic, but hey, ill be surprised if many of you have that 3rd grade reading lvl and are able to read this...

seeing as how your population is too incompetent to do this yourselves, I have come to show you guys the hypocracy you call jedi. Currently this board is buzzing with pearl/crystal problems, but noone has an open mind enough to do anything benefitial about it.

are you saying that because they took the smart path, they deserve less?
they weren't given a choice.
The simplest solution would be to return krayts to their former glory.
When a lot of the older jedi were hunting for their pearls a Krayt would hand them their @ss if they didnt have a good tank.So you were forced to hunt withb someone(grouping) or use your alt for a krayt killer.Oh and if you did it alone it took awhile to kill one unlike the current system.I spent millions of credits in armor for the CHANCE to maybe get a god pearl and a chance for myself or someone else to get a good tune.
Also you knew if you really wanted premiums your best shot was a Giant or an Ancient.Being as these could be somewhat rare at times and the fact that you werent guaranteed a pearl it was a built in mechanism to control the rate of perfect sabers being produced.
Back then I could spend a whole day hunting and feel lucky that I got a pearl or two.Others days were much better. Then the next step in keeping the perfect saber rare was the randomness of tuning. So while I may have felt lucky about spending the day getting those pearls,it could all be swept away in a moment.
So since no one at SOE and some of the younger players who didnt hunt for pearls pre-cu and pre krayt boom (which was the begining of this crap) can't remember how to set this up so that you dont have a bunch of people running around with perfect sabers I'llgo through it in steps.
1.a rare creature drops the best component for a saber
2. creature is not that easy to kill and it takes some time to get a achance to loot him
3. you have to kill as many as possible to try to get said component and even then it might not be the best.
4.Tuning is random so theres control # 3 on the droppin gof high end components.
Its really that simple.
Oh btw for anyone at SOE that cares all my PH converted after the cu to around 1200 damage. All i had to do to acquire those was walk to my local weaponsmith and fork over some cash or loot the components.I by no means rule the world with that weapon so what scares you so much aboout a Jedi having a weapon that maxxes out in the mid 700's?
As someone stated earlier it more than likely boils down to a mistake on your end than a concious effort to control the crystal/pearl drop rate.
