Spin attack works with any saber if you have the skill to use the saber and you have the skill to spin attack. I went Master Light Saber so I can use all sabers and all attacks. Until you can get better pearls you may want a dabler template but it depends on how you want to play the game and how much experience you have at PvP. Ask friends, and dont be afraid to try different things.

ya and another thing, good spin groups will net you 900k or so xp in around 40 minutes

Get a gen 4 saber ASAP. Don't be afraid to farm "fair" crystals doing Corsairs on Lok to get your damage up quickly. Similar to the rest of the combat classes, the various attacks will work with each saber type (as previously explained).

This is possible, but when grouped on Dant hunting bols and pickets, you won't be doing too much than ForceHit (Novice Powers)everything that moves. You'll do close to no dmg and will quickly tire of trying to run down your prey with all those pistols dropping targets before you get within 5m of the kill. I used 4th gen from day 1 and didn't have a force issue, just a BH problem.

As suggested, once you can spin, then you can get in some good AoE groups and fly through the template.
