as i understand it valor increases block of ranged shots not damage reduction

i've noticed the block and miss come up alot more with valor on.

Correct, it increases your chance to block at a cost of serverly reducing their damage capability from the skill box description. Some people have posted that there is a 50% reduction in dmg out put with valor on, some have posted that there is no reduction.
I"m just trying to get a defender 0/0/0/4 to turn valor on and go hit a critter and tell us if the dmg was reduced or not.

There definitely is a very slight reduction in damage output when having Force Valor enabled. I do not know exactly how much, but it's not too big a big deal.

the people i've seen who use it get a lot more benefit with it active then without it, even with their extra dmg.(if htey do have any that is, i havn't noticed much in the defenders i've fought

For those of you that have Defender, master or dabbler, but namely the 0/0/0/4 line in Defender -
Do you see a reduction in dmg when Force Valor is active? There have been conflicting posts stating yes ( 50% dmg reduction ) and no just increases block.
Could a defender please turn on Valor and swing some specials and then turn it off and swing some specials to give us a hard concrete answer here.
