Thread: Lower the SAC on Lightsabers?

While grinding on Dantooine yesterday to adjust my template, a Jedi in my group mentioned that Pre-CU sabers have a lower SAC then Post-CU.
If this is the case, do you think that lowering the SAC onnewly crafted Post-CUsabers, say the lowest we can get it would be 80, would be a good idea? Consideringsome weaponshave an even lower SAC. I think it might help level up the playing field a little more, and not cause too much of a big difference, but it would be a good difference nonetheless.

Yup.
I made a post-CU one with a 12pt suit and MLS, and got a SAC of 98. That tops my pre-CU which was 100, though my pre-CU has 50 more dps. Other than that, they were pretty even.

Well, what if the lowest we could get our sabers was 80 SAC? Good idea or no?

all pre-CU sabers got converted toa sac of 100, and you can get down to 96 post CU, so it's better with post-cu sabers in that aspect. As for the number, you can not compare it straight away to other professions weapons, because the jedi special attacks have different sac multipliers than normal attacks.
Also,Wielders attacks are a lot worse on the action than sabers, so if anything that should be lowered first.

Ah but that is due to the quality of the pearls/crystals and nothing to do with the hilt.

I always though the pre-CU saber thing was a myth. Seen a few and the only major aspect about them is they're much faster than post-CU sabers (~1.2 vs ~1.5 modded speed), and some of that can also be attributed to the pearls inside. And just for the record, the difference between 100 and 95 SAC is negligible (for a saber 
). You can safely put the last point in damage or speed when you hit ~100 SAC on experimentation.

my post CU 4th gen is97sac and fc 16 (with pearls in 48 with out)
lowest you can get post CU is 95 sac on sabre

I'm currently LS 0424 and I made a fourth gen with 22 fc and 96 SAC. The reason all the pre cu sabers have such a low fc is because back then if you tuned a flawless or premium it would almost always come out to 120 -.75 -9. I have a -6 a -7 a-5 and a -4 in my saber it does about 260-360 dmg. I can get it to about 320-420 dmg by making the fc 25 but I'm using it to grind.
