Thread: Being a jedi just isnt fun anymore....

ive waited a few days for the flames to die down before posting this,i didnt want to get involved with the rioting on here,it seems to have died down somewhat now so here goes,


its being made abundantly clear to us by SOE that jedi players are no longer welcome in the world of SWG,the CU brought a massive nerf to our proffesion that was incredibly unpopular,the devs dont care,they kept it anyways,they didnt care,then they nerf us again by adding a 6 second timer on our heals,which was completely un-neccesary,at that point the only thing that made us slightly stronger than a normal toon was our ability to heal,so what do the devs do?..the take away our ability to heal well and pass it over to normal toons who then use it in BH templates against us,


then they fix elemental damage which gave us a boost in our damage but at the same time they gave BH the ability to resist 75% of the AB,without toughening us up any so now jedi dont have the ability to tank each other,but BH/melee stackers and any other proffesion who can wear armourcan absorb most of our damage through insane slices on armour and insane energy resists,at this point enough was enough,we had a glaring inbalance in the fact that we cant do enough damage to normal players but do too much damage to each other,this was the point where SOE should have started fixing what they had broken,but instead they continue to nerf our proffesion


so now we're up to this patch,where BH have the abilty to chain snare us,and group with a SL to do insane damage to us,despite the fact that outside help is allegedaly not allowed,so heres whats happening,SOE is trying to force jedi into hiding,by beefing up BH and at the same time making BH stronger and giving them more ways to kill us,before this patch they were already overpowered and this just tips the scales to ridiculous levels,so heres how it goes,if you get on the terms,a BH is gonna come along,chain snare you,and start shooting at you with a 1257 max damage rifle thats only cert for MBH,whilst being grouped with a SL and bypass any armour you might have,so we cant get close enough to fight,and we cant run,our templates have been made useless to BH,they have free reign to do whatever the hell they choose


now heres my problem,the only things that are even remotely fun in this game as a full template jedi cause vis,i.e killing NPC's for loot like necrosis,or nightsisters,and PvP,which again causes vis,but if we choose to go do something fun,ulimitely we're gonna have some 12 year old BH who thinks he's the pwnzor come along and kill us cause theres nothing we can do about it,so SOE have sucked ALL the fun out of being a jedi,this in my honest opinion is incredibly bad business and disrespectul to its paying customers,SOE literally encouraged us to become jedi with all the advertisments and the glorifying they done about it in order to sell more copies of the game,so we all bought into it like a bunch of idiots and kept paying their fee to play as a jedi,but now SOE have done a 180 and decided that we're not allowed to be jedi anymore,and they want us to go play our alts instead,i for one refuse to go play my alt,i spent months unlocking and grinding only to have it taken away by flip floppers who change their mind more than i change my underwear,id rather cancel my account,because pure and simply put SOE dont care about us,all they care about is our money,i wouldnt go to a shop who had this kind of attitude so why should i allow SOE to do it?

I WISH I understood what their motive for all the Jedi nerfs, atleast I could assign some meaning to it, I cannot not delete (They know that), nor can I surrender my Jedi skills; I spent the better part of 250 gaming hours aquiring the right to call myself a "Jedi".... only to be "reamed" UNFAIRLY and for an altogether unclear motive.

i agree jedi not being fun , thats why i dont log him in anymore , plus its been like 3 months since i had a BH...... so i will get my butt handed to me because of all the "updates" , anyways , log on to your alt and have even more fun lol

lol this is how it is guys

Jedi didnt get nerfed, the entire combat system and SWG:1 got thrown out the window.

We are playing SWG:2 , Jedi were always like this , etc 25% LS block, snares,roots, funny looking icons that nobody likes and seems alot alike WoW and Eq2

You can't compare SWG1, too SWG2. Both are completely different things, put it like this

WE NEVER HAD 85% SABERBLACK

WE ALWAYS HAD ROOTS AND SNARES IN THE GAME

WE NEVER HAD LIGHTSABER DAMAGE

the list goes on.

Please read this all and read what im actually writing.

Starwars Galaxies 1 was really fun and enjoyable i know of many people who quit and ebayed, i'm soon too be on that path, the game is left behind.

Starwars Galaxies 2 making room for the nubs and new people, very few of us old guys left, the new game has pushed out the old and brought in the new

Its time too move on.

Perhaps they are balancing us for the release of FRS with the power that we will gain through force rank , maybe that would of made us too uber. Be patient , dont call it quits until you see what frs brings us.

I honestly beleive that the Jedi has become TOO many in the servers and the DEVs are thinking in the long run. Best to loose some players to the Jedi nerfs now than to loose the game when in 6 months time, every damn toon will be a Jedi (for the exception of alts)

so in other words they are taking away all our power and effectivly making us in some cases weaker than non jedi only to implement a FRS making us 1 : 1 yay for you

But what did SOE expect? The game has been out for what? 2-3 years and figured only a handfull would go Jedi? It's part of the game, it's like the highest lvl you can achieve and it wouldn't be SW without them. Now there are "too many" and SOE is trying to clean them out. I see3 ways this is happening.


1. Old Jedi and some new are cancelling their accounts


2. Play your alt BH, it's a lot more fun


3. Making it harder and harder to get Jedi



It's only going to get worse from here on in until there are no Jedi or very few left. Then the process will start over again, Jedi will get buffs and when there are too many again they get nerfed. SOE has no idea how to balance a game yet most of us still keep playing in hopes that it will get better. This is not a rant or a flame to anyone it's just how I see it and I believe how most of us see it. I have 2 trips to the village left before I am Jedi. I plan to unlock and start on my alt and elave my Jedi till later. I have no idea what it's like but I see all my friends dropping one by one because of all the changes. The biggest contributor to the Jedi population was all those double exp weeks so it's not our fault SOE opened the door for an increase in population. The only thing we can do is deal with it or find another game.

One of the best posts ever.


Iwish some one at sony even caredwho had the power to help the game and the player base.


I wish a dev would respond and say patch 25 will inclide a fix to all the jedi bugs and issues,


I wish playing my jedi was 1/2 the fun of playing my rouge in wow.


A game should have a huge fun factor but the way they have changed it here its gone.

Total agreement here. I am fortunate to be a postion to have 3 accounts and 4 toons, so I can at least log in and do something fun once in awhile. I made Jedi last summer but neglegted him till CU (I was busy enjoying the game with alts) . That was a big mistake. Anyway, I only log the Jedi on to check harvesters.

coz you suck if you were good on your jedi and beat people alot youdhave more fun, no im not fotm temp no im not pre cu no i dont have uber caped saber infact its all cu pearls but i sitll kick ass and no i dont like to use full stops or any kind of punchuation just coz i dont
