Thread: A jedi theory I'm actually trying
I posted this originally on GameFaqs SWG board since I usually just visit there. It was a popular theory so I decided to share it with the main site folks. I basically formed it from events and screens I seen and read that people have posted and what I've experienced personally on SWG.
I believe that getting the Jedi Slot isn't random, but different for each person. The paths would be chosen everytime you created your character. First, many people have claimed to have found artifacts. So, I took this into account. Well, anyways, the theory.
Every person must collect atleast 1 jedi artifact, 1 locked container, 1 "map" item (yes, people have found treasure maps.) and 1 broken item that is none of the above. They first need to unlock the container which gives instructions or an item that decodes the map, which is the coordinates of an NPC that fixes items. He'll fix your item, and will give you coords of a person that wants to buy that item from you. You meet that person, and you'll get the option of giving it free (it you don't, you'll have to get the exact broken item again.) If you do, they'll notice you have a jedi artifact. They'll be intrigued and give you coords of a professor or researcher. He'll study it and find out a location of a mysterious jedi [temple, cave, town, whatever.] You travel there to find to find another NPC. He'll put you on a series of missions to test your strength, wit, and loyalty. If you pass all 3, you'll gain enterence to whatever he guards. Their you will meet one of the remaing Jedi Masters in the universe. He'll converse with you telling you he lost his padowan. You must go find his padowan. When you do, you find him dead (killed by the opposing faction). You return the Jedi master and he'll tell you he needs a new padowan. You'll be given the option of saying "I know of someone who might have force powers" or "Good luck finding a new padowan." If you choose the first choice, the Jedi Master will be interested and will say, show me. A system message will appear saying "Create a new character to be this Jedi Master's Padowan."
But, I'm guessing, to keep with the subject of time, all of these items/npcs won't appear until you play for a certain amount of time =) Oh, PLEASE DO NOT FLAME because you've seen a lot of jedi theories. I've gotten a lot of good remarks on this one and just wanna share it others. Who knows, if it's true I'll be the first jedi =P
that is such a good idea I may use it for my tabletop sw rpg... but really, seen from the ammount of static quest they actually have in the game, it may no be a high probability now. But if I see more static quest put up as the game goes on I may look into your theory, looks very interesting as if you have already done it. Truly though, I've see more things pop up in the last post that I hadn't seen before. Minor things like new NPC's, (and mind you I keep a close eye out for these) and new conversations old NPC's were having. Hopefully they wil add alot more, and hopfully some more static quest only optional once to your Character.
sin
voren.
ps. and like the man said, no flaming, I hate it too.
this theory is very well suited for a scout type, but may not give someone like an entertainer a very good chance. Even so, I think that anyone can do these "deliver: type missions so you still may be right.
To the person who said npcs coming and changing: I said something about NPCs/items appearing after you play a certain amount of time.
The Thing about the static quest: It's more of a semi-static quest, as every npc and item comination would probably be different for every person.
The thing about entertainers not being able to do it: You could probably get all of the items through deliveries, so you wouldn't need any combat abilities. And at the trials to gain enterence to see the jedi master, the strength one would be set to be challenging to your specific character, not challenging to the general populace. So, what may be challenging to an entertainer for fighting would definatly not be the same strength test for a master TKA.
Oh, thanks for the comments on my theory!
Oh, sorry for double post, but on the locked container thing, you can replace that with a decryption item if you have it. It's just that people commonly find them in locked containers.
Who said getting fs was supose to be hard. they just said being a jedi was hard.
i know this is my first post but im a lerker have been since way befor beta.
Im a n00b. How do you unlock those containers? I've gotten them before but didn't know how to bust them open.
