Kind of an extention on Windu vs Palpatine - discussion
What happens if Qui-Gon Jinn is not killed by Darth Maul?
And how do you think Dooku's role is affected by this? (Seeing how he references Qui-Gon in Ep II while talking to Obi-Wan.)
Figured this would be fun to talk about.
I just remember watching epII and dooku made it seem like Qui-Gon would join him. But was that a lie to get Obi-Wan on his side OR was there some truth in there.

Here is what I think...
If Qui-gon was never killed by Darth Maul, Obi-Wan would have never tapped into the darkside to be able to kill Darth Maul. Since Darth Maul did not die then Darth Tyrnus would have never became the sith apprentice. The Clone Wars would have never taken place because Darth Maul was not the Poltical Idealist that Dooku was, Darth Sideous would have never had Darth aul lead the Sepertists.
Now if Qui-gon was able to kill Darth Maul (which I find unlikely), I dont think that Qui-Gon would have Joined Dooku. Darth Tyranus was just trying to persuade Obi-Wan to join him.
The death of Darth Maul was unfortunite, but without this necessary evil the corruption of the Jedi consuil could not have been stopped.
