Thread: Doc or CM for the Padawan grind?

Hello folks, I've been looking for some threads that might give me some insight into which of these would be more useful for a long, (and more than likely will be mostly solo), grind to Jedi. With the intermittent search function, all I keep pulling up are Bounty Hunter bashing threads- but none with the information I'm looking for. If anyone could point me at a thread, post, or a sticky I missed, I'd appreciate it. Thanks

I kept doc 4004 then 0004 as long as posible self buffing allthetime gives you a huge edge against BH because you always have the speed buff & regain buffs you can often outdamagea Bh because of this& the doc heals keep them tillyou get enogh exp to get healer 4000 in one shot then just switch but makeit one of thlastthings you do as the doc heals are soooo uber

With the lack of offense, defense, and utility skills a pady has, I strongly urge you to go TKM prior to starting this grind. I was 2h/MCM and wasn't doing to well, a switch over to TKM/Pikeman (despite the lack of healing) and suddenly I could solo again. Doc may have been better than MCM, but healing wasn't the problem. The problem was doing 100 dmg to a 6K HAM creature while being hit for 600-800a tick. TKM defense mods made these fights very easy. So easy that a Stim was all I needed, well, till the MBH's started coming around. Just my 2cents.

EDIT: Oh yeah, don't give to the urge to fight NPC's cuz they drop so much easier than PvE creatures. The fast XP isn't worth the early BH visits.

Some points:

1. Buffs and Dots do not count for xp. So as a CM you can dot a creature and still get full Jedi xp. Likewise, as a doc you can buff yourself and still get full Jedi xp.

2. You can do most of your self healing between mobs saving force.

3. As a non-Jedi healer you can still heal while fighting a BH and not use force.

4.Unlike Jedi healing you can do it in the water. B. Infusion heals for more than a droid attacks. If you grind near water you will always have an excape plan or just a place to let your force regen.

I agree here. I am TKM while grinding up. No it is not as good as Defender but provides you with some defense. I am also a Powers Jedi so I can use Center Of Being when I don't have a saber equipped. For healing, in general, I use stimpacs and Novice Healer.

I too say go Master Doc. Heres why

1. As pointed out, you save 15 skill points.

2. Carry the Master Doc title on your toon, and all groups will want you around due to your skills.

3. Self healing, buffing and curing. (Curing very important against the MBH/MCM)

4. Stabilizers for removing states.

5. Eventhough you can hurt your jedi XP when in combat by healing yourself, it is not that big a deal in the long run. Besides, I lost count of the number of times the master doc heals have save my butt from a third incap in 10mins.

Look at my template in sig for Thorkahn. With Master Doc and the Jedi Skills I have, lvl 80.
