Thread: Do you think we need cross faction dialog?

Would the game be more fun if you couldn't talk to the opposing faction?

Or even do you think it would be better if Bounty hunters couldn't talk to their marks while they have their mission?

Do you think this game needs cross faction conversations to be playable?

Do you think it would make crafters play a bigger roll in their faction if this was the case?

What's the point anyways?

This isn't WOW. We don't need to make it WOW. Last I checked, Rebels and Imperials in the movies had very little difficulty communicating.

The point of not alowing you to chat with the oppersit side is to make you feal a part of a large team.

The debate is this:

*if reb can chat to imp and visa versa theres a chance that you can have a spy in your guild sending info back to the bad guys.

*if the communication is cut off rebs carnt speek to imps visa versa, then it would take alot more work for the spy to get this infomation.

*with wow in mind you carnt swap sides and carnt communicate with oppersit sides, you carnt even have a ally and hord toon on the same server.

(so not realy what wow is doing but a lil alike)

it would be intresting if the comms were cut and spys would realy have there work cut out for them, one thing it would stop is cheep talking when pvp-ing.

That was about the stupidest response to a post I have seen in a long time. Does your mommy know you are up from your nap?

Ummm.... much like the real world you can have spies. All we are doing is dealing with situations that would normally occur in a Civil War.

Not much extra work at all.... takes 2 seconds for the spy to exchange RL email addresses with their contacts. Then they are just typing an email out of game instead of in game.

How about we just remove any enjoyment in this game. Part of the fun is allowing a player to experience the Imp and the Rebel side with two different toons. And anyone that would want to get around that would just have two accounts (most do anyways) and make one Imp and one Reb. No way for SOE to reconcile that unless they wanted to really play big brother.

Then there is the fact that they can be on TS or Vent together. Also, there is no possible way for SWG to prevent a player that owns 2 seperate accounts from having a rebel on one and an Imperial on the other and to go beyond that and have both logged in at the same time. All of those including the ideas that Strider gave are why it would be a complete, total, absolute waste of resources best spent elsewhere.

i agree that there is better things that could be implemented in game than what is been discussed here between us.

but i do feel that there needs to be a stronger definition between fractions the cuttingof communication would strengthen this, a bit like light jedi doing dark jedi stuff it just don't wash with me dark jedi should have different skill options from the light jedi.

also when comms are cut you wont be able to speak any rebs/imps to get there RL phone number or e mail, un less you log on with your spying account, and do just that spy same thing as wow if you have 2 accounts you can have both side toons on same server , nothing can stop that from happening, but the average player who's happy grinding/questing on one account only this idea would be very affective in making them feel that they are apart of a large team and share the common enemy.
