yeh was wondering myself if the innate armor of def 4440 will be better then the 3402 enhancer Force shield?

Enhancer 3402 / Def 4040 simply because I like ForceArmor more than the short running Aura. Beside that the x4xx Def tree can't compensate ForceArmor.
Yes, there is allways a downside: ForceArmor's drain.

The real question is how the force cost is on your lightsaber and if you are good at managing force. The damage reduction with 4440 defender would be roughly 45% while with 3402 enhancer and 4040 defender would be roughly 56% which will be noticable when you start taking over 1000 points in damage often.
With my template I only use force armor without any defender and I resist 48% of the damage and I personally think I am doing fine with it.
