Thread: 1 BOX IN POWERS..WATS THE BEST?
My suggestion is to spend your skill points elsewhere. Drop novice force weilder and use the 16 skill points in defender, healer, enhancer....even sabers. Force weilding, in my opinion, is only powerful (and that is debateable) when done from master. Cloak is fine for dabblers, as it is more a defensive skill. But you will deal very little damage with only 1 box in powers. And force weaken does not grant much assistance. If you are still determined to get 1 box in powers, get lightning, as it is a ranged attack to suppliment melee attacks...at least when rooted you won't be totally just humming the theme music from Jeopardy! QFE. There is no tier 1 box that's worth the 16 points to get to.

It depends on where you pick your level 1 box. Novice defender adds +25 to melee/ranged defence, +20 to force defence and +10 to innate armor. Choosing either ranged or melee defence tree level 1 box will add another +20 to the respective defence. For the small amount of skill points/boxes, defender far outweighs dabbling in powers.
