i just went from lvl 1 to lvl 10 (took 2hrs or so) cause i couldnt log my lvl 14.
don't want to explain too much but the thing is: my right hand hurts. those who played know what i'm talking about.
the nge combat forces you to hold left button pressed for hours.
the hand with the mouse doesnt move, just small, controlled slides and left button pressed.
heck i played competitional CS for about 3 years and i never had my hand so stressed.
the old systems forced you to use both hands and move them thus allowing muscular tonus.
sometimes you fight 2-3 mobs an you have to execute small slides with milimetric precision for long periods so you can attack only one at a time.
they should implement a targeting system or use high xp bonus and tougher creatures so you can take small breaks.
if you think you can kill pickets for 6 hrs like you do now, forget it.
i refuse to use a controller, that would be the last thing to do, mmorpg with my x-box controller.
again, if you don't have to grind, the new targeting system is ok, its based on valve's engine i guess, modified by those who coded resident evil (similar to CS 1.4). but killing 2347045743250349 pickets with this system is gonna put people in doctor's office.
well, they need to put an auto-fire togle, i cant see grinding without it.
NOTE:
on a second thought I had a red led blinking
yep,
THE TARGETING/COMBAT SYSTEM IS DESIGNED FOR CONSOLE
They will never change it.

Has anyone tried any alternative control methods? Remapping your keys intelligently, or using joystick/joypad possibly. May be less accurate for PvP, but for grinding it may be good enough. Haven't tried it myself though, so I don't know.

What I find especially annoying:
1) The crosshair is off center from your character. It's to the right just enough to annoy the piss out of me
2) It's almost impossible to highlight something/people/npcs/etc to examine/loot/harvest egg/etc. If it's a mob, you have to attack it. I want to see if I have a chance, not walk up and punch something to see if I'm going to die in one hit.

i agree man i got sick a clicking and logged , and for some strange reason i dont even have an interest in playing my account on the Cu server . I think im gonnalose interest in SWG when this new combat takes effect .
The tutorial is very nice and the combat is fun but the repetitivness of it is gonan get old quick thats exactly why i left Lineage 2 after only 14 levels , the combat is tidious.

Is it possible to macro the fire button or change the keymapping to something.... easier?
Hell, is there anything easier? I suppose a button held is a button held, even if it is a keybutton. Now that I think about it, the mouse button would probably be the easiest to hold down...

I've remapped extensively, butit looks like I'mgoing to have tocancel based on the UI alone. The game changes are almost irrelevant to me at this point. I'm disliking the interface more the longer I play it. It's too clumsy, too cumbersome and lacking in functionality.
