Will debuffs such as thyroid rupture that lower attack speed override doctor and Jedi speed buffs? Will debuffs to action/mind like sap override buffs or food that boost those attributes?

Currently, and this is still subject to change, all debuffs first remove any buffs and then apply their penalty.

It goes for *all* debuffs.

The developers have said they're taking our comments and reconsidering, so there's hope that this will get removed and the old system will stay in place.

AllI can say is WOW. I mean the snare nerf is huge but a complete nerf on all buffs is insane. MBH/MCM is already the FotM and I only see them getting more powerful even if healing has an action cost. Jedi are gonna be in a bad bad way.

like i said on the beta boards, il be going atleast m.cm with 0-0-4-0 smuggler for the total of -80 combat speed debuff, maybe even pick up the pike defence tree for intimidate and imp warcry to do a 30% damage reduction and a -120 combat speed debuff

There is a STRONG movement by many melee profs, not just jedi, to have this changed before LIVE. Think of the Doctors. . .their masster level bufff isrendered useless by a 2nd level CM skill . . .

Does anyone know if you can re-buff over a de-buff?

No you can't till the debuff wears off.

The de-buff overrides the buff for the duration of the de-buff, but it doesn't dispell the buff I believe. Let me put it this way, if you are under a Squad Leaders Retreat (faster speed) and you get Snared, you'll move at the Snare speed for the duration of snare. When the Snare runs out, you'll be back at the Retreat speed since that has a longer duration and is still active. If you are Snared and attempt to Burst Run, you'll continue to move at the Snare speed until it wears off, then you'll be burst running. Its a matter of priority, Debuff takes priorty over Buff.

Oh, and this system is also on Test Center I have heard, so if you have questions feel free to go over there and help test / provide feedback.

The answer is no. But I have serious doubts this will ever get live. If it does I can see a quick hotfix much like the xp nerf. If not I'm not sure how this is going to play out in the Jedi community. I do know Melee players will have to re-learn to play this game. Even in PvE because I can tell you right now everything does snare, root, k/d. The fun times are when I fight a Jedi NPC and it has Aura on......omg I hate missing 50% of the time, wish I had some food on test to counter that. What's funny is I was trying to kill a 30k boss mob and I activated FR......the NPC snared me, after it wore off it rooted then armor brokeme. It was quite funny to get completely owned by an NPC seeing I had 725 damage saber.

How will force weaken/force wave/force sap work under the new debuff system?
