Thread: Two handed or double bladed for grinding?

Hey all!

Been in the game a couple of years now, well since Chimaera came online anyway, and been plodding through nicely. Two or maybe three months backI got my wee glowstick, and am progressing OK, getting there. However, I tend to use a 2-handed sabre, witha wee macro of target search, /attack pause 2 rinse and repeat as I don't have the double bladed spin attack. I can get it though, but have chosen not to as yet.

However, I was wondering, is it better to use a spin attack with a double - bladed sabre than a spin with atwo-handed (assume accuracy etc. was the same for both...say tier 2 on both sabre trees) and although I'm sure I deal out a bit more damage with my 2 handed than a spin attack does, only slower, is it worth getting a spin attack for grinding? Will it kill the beasts faster, thus helping the general spingroup?

It may sound like a few daft questions here, but is it worth getting the old spin attack for grinding, weighing it up against the /ui action cycleTargetOutward; /attack; /pause 2 (etc etc) that I tend to do (which also reduces force cost). Any comments?

Cheers

Nope it doesn't matter what LS you use spin with. It's only in that tree but the saber named tree itself doesn't affect the attack if done with another saber.

Ah! I see. Was just thinking that maybe as it has 2 blades each blades damage may be less than a 2 handed, but add up to more. Fast reply there mate!

So any sabre would be the same. Cool. So would spin do more damage than the macro I currently use? (Based on an old TK one I used to use )

Spin does a fair amount of dmg but it's all based on the dmg of your saber. If you're not the only one spinning the nest you shouldn't worry too much. Spin attack will make it much easier to hit everything and still do a decent amount of dmg as the target selected will take the most from the spin.

In that case I'll stick with my wee macro, and so reduce force costs I get about 500+ damage on each piket normally (sometimes pops down to 250+ .. I blame my accuraccy...a graze on the pikets leg maybe ) so that's not too bad.

Thanks for the info mate.

With my saber I hit everything for about 500+ dmg using improved spin attack. It makes grinding a lot faster too but it's all about what works best for you.

Not bad mate!!!

Out of curiosity, could you hit a piket in a group with /attack, and post the damage please? I'd be interested to see the difference.

Cheers.
