i will be doing the padawan trails in the near future and have a question about when i first start grinding jedi. I will be a TKM and some doc as i get jedi skills. what i wonder is if my jedi inate will cancel my tkm armor even if my tkm armor absorbs more damage. so if all my tkm armor will go out the window i will need to grind some nov defender. so what say you?

The higher value Inate Armor will be the armor value that works. So when you start out it will be TK Inate that you will be using

Actually, no. If you have your saber equipped, your tka innate armor does not work. You'd think it should work the way you described, but it doesn't. A simple way to test this is to fight something with your saber equipped and notice your damage intake. Then, try fighting the same critter at the same level while unarmed or with some sort of knucklers equipped. You will notice that while fighting unarmed you take less damage than you were with your saber equipped.

So I was sittin there thinkin, if an armor belt with no stats negates your Inate... then what does a PSG do? Is it safe for a TKM to wear?

PSGs will stack with TK's innate armor. It's a separate layer that sits on top of whatever normal armor protection you have, whether it's innate or a suit of composite.
It's very handy when you're getting shot at, even by creatures. It seems that any ranged attack (even if it's a spitting humbaba) counts as energy damage, so the PSG will absorb some of the hit.

Isnt it even better than stacking?
I thought it works like:
Damage - PSG Resist = Reduced Damage
Reduced Damage - Armor Resist = low Final Damage
The final damage should be lower now than with stacking:
Damage - (PSG Resist + Armor Resist) = high Final Damage
Because of diminishing return formular?
But I didnt really test it yet...

Well.....right. It's not really "stacking", since it's two separate damage reduction calculations. I just meant thatwearing a PSG won't negate a TK's innate armor.

cool thanks, basically psg = half dmg light sabers. watched my friend go from getting hit for 200 dmng a shot to 6-800 a shot when the PSG died. but didn't want to get one myself if it negates

PSG does not work agains lightsabres, only ranged energy weapons. This includes most NPC's that don't change to melee when attacked, many PC's who don't switch to kinetic in PvP, and most ranged attacks by creatures "spitting" energy attacks at you. Something else happened to your friend to go from 200 damage to 6-800 damage vs the lightsabre. I am going to guess it was saber armor break was landed on him/ her.

well in my experience since I did this thread, they do work. light sabers are energy damage and the high energy armor and psg's work well

If PSGs are working against sabers, supposedly that is not what is intended. Enjoy while it lasts. I am suprised I have not seen screams on the Jedi boards.
