The game has evolved into something different from what the original plan was.

Our guild has roughly about 10 more newbies recently, every single one of them wants to be a jedi someday. All the veterans,6mo~ or so playing, are half way there in our guild. A few long timers who still play are either jedi or just are too lazy to finish the grinding to become jedi. If you play the game long enough, eventually you are going to unlock your Jedi. 99% of players have this goal. It took me eight months, not of solid grinding, but having fun and doing quests too. I had about 92 badges, and have done most of the majorquests and missions before I received my saber. To me receiving my saber was a way of SOE saying, thank you for playing for so long, thank you for remaining a loyal customer.

I believe, as many of you do, that Jedi should be a difficult proffession to unlock, not difficult to play. If you as a customer have to play and pay for such along time to get your saber you should be rewarded with a proffession that is beyond elite, beyond what typical of other proffessions. The game should shift focus to keep long time players around. There should be no stopping point in the gameplay for such people who spend enough time playing that they unlock their jedi. SOE must keep in mind that the game is not what it used to be, there are going to be a lot of jedi around and more and more as the game gets older. Why should we be so punished for this?

There are a relative number of players who play the game only for PVP. And you'll see them play BH's or jump into spinner groups to grind out there daily alloted FS xp so that they can unlock their Jedi so that they can PVP with them. Then they get bored with the game, since it's more focused as a RPG and not (insert first person shooter here) and they leave after causing a bad name for those of us who are sticking around wondering why we are getting stealth nerfs and our broken abilities/loot stay broken.

Some things that come to mind are Jedi mission terminals (or maybe being able to receive missions from our jediskill trainers) with high level NPC's or Creatures that havea chance to drop crystals or other much needed loot. Adding more jedi specific content or, as much needed, revamp the whole jedi profession since it seems not to be working from the DEV point of view.

I saw a post of revamping the way sabers were constructed, by adding KOTOR like components and I thought that would be one of the neatest things that could possible happen. With loot drops of possibly better saber components or special jedi schematics that allow you to make better components.

AN OPTION, likespecial forces/combatantto be hunted by either player bounty hunters or difficult, elite NPC bounty hunters (that don't drop any loot ;] ). I would personally be fine with losing XP if hunted by an NPC and it would add a non-hostile relationship with other players, thus removing the hate rants between Jedi and player MBH's except those who choose to be hunted by players. OR have different levels of visibility>> first you get hunted by NPC's and if you keep acting up in public, you get Player BH's coming after you (though this wouldn't solve the hate filled atmosphere as much)

I love all the new content coming out for the other professions. I hope that there is something more for us to keep the long term players interested.

What I'd love to see in this thread is more ideas for content for Jedi.

It doesn't matter. To SOE the money of someone who just played the game is just as good as a vet. As long as the new players keep coming in faster than they lose players, they are fine with people quitting. They keep players coming in by evening things out so they get their money's worth out of the new players who will keep paying seeing as they are "leet" even though they have only played 2 months. They keep people from quitting faster by saying they are "going to" do this and that for the vet players (jedi). All SOE cares about is money. They got star Wars because it is a VERY popular franchise and they knew they could make a game qith stick figures but as long as they had the title "star wars" they would make money. They draw people in with the promise of having a lightsaber. Jedi sells. This is all SOE cares about is money. They could probably tell you your credit card # before they could tell you your name.

Yeah i'm not a jedi..yet but i agree the jedi profession should be very hard to get.

and very fun to play where you are the strongest of all profesion but the other prof don't feel left out that they are not jedi.

there is WAY to many jedi at least in the galaxy i am in.

i see millions of jedi all the time. i just wish there was less so i could feel more special when i am a jedi.

they should make jedi much stronger but much harder to get.

i was also wondering do they have any quests that only jedi can do?

i'm going to be a dark jedi.

and i've started the village i've been doing the deegerin quest thing.

just wondering..thanks

You cant have your cake and eat it to! What do you want them to do? If there are already to many Jedi, there is no fixing that unless you delete all Jedi characters. They screwed the pooch and now there is no going back. I do wish they never stopped making characters do 15-20 profession to get their Jedi. I think the village is a very neat idea and maybe added that on top of the profession grind just to make it that much harder to get.You can become glowie with the help of a friend ina weekend and grind your FS exp in no time with decent spin groups and/or macros. I mean **edit** you dont even have to sit at the computer for most of the 18 weeks to get Initiate. I have been playing about 3 months and am starting my 8th profession I think and have about 82 badges. I have 2 unlocks down and only about 1 mill FS exp saved. Sure I want to be a Jedi and could be done by now but what is the rush? The more and more Jedi I see that don't know what they are doing, the less I want to become a Jedi. The addition of the village and subtraction of the profession grind as well as the shift to almost all players grinding in spin groups from level 1 has produced countless weak players. It really is sad...I wish I had bought this game at launch. I picked it up so many times and talked myself out of it. Although it isn't the game I had wished, it is still fun and I enjoy myself most nights of the week.My onlywish is that the teams who create the game and are in charge of running itwould plan things out a little better and execute their plans. If they did that, they could easily keep the bugs under control and have a more balanced game. It has been said a million times, either your a Jedi or you hunt them as a BH. As they add patches and publishes, all other profession will be phased out. Of course this kind of post is useless because of the first few lines of the post; they cant fix it now unless they piss off 50% of the player base. People wont sit back and think about if it will help the game or not (and it might not change a thing anyhow).

yeah there is a quest >>> for a decent crystal/pearl

Imagine being a Master Creature Handler.

Except all lvl30 and above baby creatures cannot be found. And while you are looking for a high level pet, you get surprised by MBH/MCM, the battle lasts for a few moments while you heal and heal and heal and heal until your force bar is empty and you get incapped. Nowcomes up and slays you. You watch your experience meter lose (450,000 x 6) = 2,700,000 experience points while the bounty hunter gives you/rude + "you just got pwnd newb".

Perhaps making the quests longer and more difficult i.e. I mean it has taken me longer to become a master pilot through Storm squadron that it did to become glowie and unlock all of my FS stuff. I will have all my FS xp grinded out in about a month prolly and it will only take that long because I am a casual player. Also if they added longer periods of time inbetween the phases and maybe added a very difficult quest to get into the village, that would be nice. Maybe if they added a difficult quest for the fighters, and a certain quest for the crafters where they have to get x amount of VERY rare resources.

meh, just sit tight and pay money to soe, nothin positive will happen... for me they can nerf jedi down to cl 1, i dont care anymore, they ruined it with the CU anyway.

Also, if they gona make game improvements they should start focusing on other things then jedi and BH.....

This game has no future atm, the dev's dont give a **** what the players want.
