Hey, Einstein... since when can Jedi master all of our discilplines? We have only so many skill points to use, just like anyone else...no wait, we have 24 LESS than anyone else, because 24 istied up in the near useless FS crap. SoIf a Jedi is a strong healer, he gives up alot of either defense or offense, if a Jedi is strictly offensive, he has to sacrifice alot of healing and defense, if a Jedi becomes Defense, he loses alot of healing and offense, and to level them all across, it will only make us us strong as a master brawler/masterrifleman/master medic....

Never said they could. I said they could have great healing, great damage, great buffs, and great crowd control. I said nothing on master of all the disciplines.

I'd argue that already many jedi skills are "the best" in the game. No other professions can avoid incapacitation, run as fast as a swoop, have 2 AOE attacks, throw a melee weapon with a 32m range, heal all wounds, damage and states at once.

Just because in these days of dabblers not everyone masters a jedi skill doesn't mean that the powerful moves aren't available to them. I consider a MLS/MDEF or a MP jedi to be much stronger than a lone MCM.

Genildor, you should try to play the game more.

Try non-Jedi templates and try something without Defender.

Try a Master Enhancer vs a Master Pistoleer or Master Combat Medic.
Try a Master Powers vs a Master Carbineer:
Try a Master Healer vs a 4000 Doctor.

Trying to quell the problems with theese disciplines by telling them they dont know what they talk about is pretty ignorant.
Remember that non-Jedi can pick up +1,5 profession just like Jedi and get far more for each profession than Jedi does in terms of defense, armor, accuracy and weapons.

--- Cancelled 24th November 2006
Reason: The lack of multiplayer pve content and Star Wars feel.
For 3 years I have tried to find excuses to stay in game but only the expansions offered me what I subscribed for in the first place: A multiplayer Star Wars pve experience with friends around the globe. I found friends but with almost no addition of pve content they dropped out one by one. Now it's my turn.

Yeah, and when you factor in having to grind a hundred times as long and having days of exp taken from you by a single bounty hunter, as well as having fairly weak melee weapons and not being able to wear armor and having your skills cost almost double the points on Non-Jedi skills, you gotta wonder why all this is worth being able to show off a glowstick to some friends.

What exactly are the skill point differences there?

Avoid incap is a great skill that seperates jedi from all other classes. The same is true for self res, cloak and force run. But when you say 2 aoe attacks implying this is jedi specific you're very wrong ... I can aoe KD, speed debuff, stasis, stun, blind, dizzy, snare, root (not root and stasis, seperate from stasis) andcancel attack actions. Nine aoe attacks simply by equiping an LP with 50 meter range.

Healing wounds is in one line of healer which many and most jedi do not pickup. Running fast as a swoop is master enhancer, AI is master defender, healing states and wounds are 2 lines in healer ... you can have all that at the cost of not having the rest of what youve mentioned such as 32 meter melee weapon throw and2 aoe attacks. In order to complete what you said in one temp you'd need master healer, master defender, master enhancer and either a line of powers andtwo lines in saber or master saber.

The jedi profession is a jack of all trades. Please, stop complaining about how your damage is 3rd best, and your healing is 3rd best, your crowd control is second best, buffs are second best, etc. The reason that you're strong is because you can mix these things together where others can't. A regular player can have the best damage in the game, but can't have remotely decent healing, tanking, or crowd control. A regular player can have the best healing, but much less damage, tanking, or crowd control. A jedi can have 3rd best damage (2nd easily with great saber), 3rd best healing, and second best buffs all at once. That's where the strength lies.
Just wanted to say that after someone complained about MCM's (the class meant to be a debuff) having a 2 minute snare.

This is the problem, people come on here stating ignorant remarks (ignorant is not a bad word...it means "without knowledge") because they have no idea what they are talking about and they are so overjoyed by being better than jedi. While i agree with you, that we are the jack of all trades, there is a cool thing in this game called a template. Sure Teras-kasi artist doesn't have healing in there, but teras kasi doesn't take half your skill points...which means you can put something else (I.E. Master Doctor). So if we go by your logic, if you, as a Swordsman (hypothetically speaking) pick up master doctor and/or Doctor 4000 with some TKA, then you will be forced to sacrifice half your damage potential (your hammer will now have max damage of 500) and your healing will now take 6 seconds. Good day sir.

I've been both jedi and everything else. In my experience, to out damage a jedi, you have to do serious sacrificing in the rest of the fields. Healing... eh. Tanking, most definitly. I was tired as hell when i wrote my original post, so i apologize all. I didn't put as much thought into it when i wrote it as i should of, but i still feel mostly the same way. I don't really think jedi should be the strongest in any field, just close in all of them.

You can be 2,5 Jedi discipline or 2,0-3,0 non-jedi professions (regulary 2,5)

Master Swordman/Master Teras Kasi/4000 Doctor is very similar to a Master Lightsaber/Master Defender/4004 Healer template, although the first will beat the second every time unless it's played by a newbie.
