Theoretically yes it should, but people are saying that tapes for lightsaber are not working properly. If your saber is already 1.25 modded speed then buying gen melee speed would be useless and a waste of creds.
so what you mean that is 1,25 cap speed?
No it isn't, say your modified attack speed is 1.23 w/out forcespeed 2. Drop +27 in general melee speed and your modified speed will drop by .04 to 1.19 speed. Now take those very same mods an apply them to a modified speed of 1.44 and it'll drop it about 10 points.
Point being, how much is +27 gen melee speed worth and how much does it drop your speed by? .04 in speed reduction ....ooooo.. not including force speed 2..... uber....

as i thought then
well i have 1,26 speed without tape so i am in no worry to get me loads of tape and i should never buy but itis nice to know

Well don't get me wrong, getting tapes is well worth it, just not in the manner that the majority of the people assume....
At MLS and w/ a good saber tapes are pretty much worthless because of the diminishing returns. And any speed increase you would manage to get would be meager and not even noticeable. In saying that, say your timers do eventually add up and you get an extra hit in over your opponent, chances are that you might lose that speed bonus due to a KD or KD bug, or lag or just flat out miss.....etc...
Now consider having a much lower modified speed (wink wink) and being capped on tapes then, you would have greater freedom in your template which is what most people aren't realizing....but in order to do that you need a deceent saber.

I'm really confused. So should I craft a speed saber, or a damage saber (after sac). Also, If my modified speed is 1.25 am I really hitting at 1 .25 * modifiers.
or is everyone stuck at 2 secs between hits?

There is no hard cap on speed like there used to be. The reason those extra +25 isn't helping when you're already as high as you are is the diminishing speed formula. You can find it on swgwiki, and let's call the the speed function 's'. Then:
s(150)
-------- =0.98
s(125)
In other words: Going from 125 to 150 in speedmod will decrease your modified speed with only 2%. This is a small change and very hard to notice.
This is what I thought, but people are saying that even though it shows in your character sheet, there is a +25 cap. Plz, someone smart clear this up for me.

well, the cap regarding how much you can get from clothing/attachments is still in effect I guess. But you can get +25 to LS speed and +25 to general melee speed, so it's a bit.
