Thread: An old veteran makes a suggestion about the new respec

Hello all,
I have been reading all of the new information regarding the changes and I am ok with most of it so far.
I understand how the respec will work in the new system but here is where it bothers me:
If I were to create a new character on a server today and grind him to cl80 pistoleer/smuggler/cm, I could do it in less than a week....easily.With the new respecsI will be able to respec that character's skills into jedi skills.
I currently have a cl80 jedi that I unlocked in February 2004 on my 20th profession. That jedi just recently reached full template. All in all I have spent 2 years on the jedi....difficult and time consuming. With the new respecsI will be able to respec that character's skills into jedi skills.
Will my "old jedi" and my "one week old" character respec to the same level in jedi skills?
Jedi being a starting profession does not bother me, but it should be difficult to gain skills and experience in the new system if it is a starting profession.
My proposal:
Remove jedi skills as a respec option in the new system. Only current jedi will be able to respec into jedi skills. This will keep older jedi happy that their effort hasn't gone unnoticed (the current rewards sound like a slap in the face) and will keep new jedi somewhat difficult and enjoyable to advance in. New characters created can choose novice jedi or your current cl80 character can choose novice jedi in the new system, but not allowed to respec their one week old skills into jedi skills that should be hard to get. I am a believer that jedi will only be enjoyable if it is earned, not respec'd into.
I know I have not covered all the bases (we dont know all the details yet), but please give this some consideration out of respect for all the people that worked very hard to become a jedi in this old system.
Your thoughts?
