With the respec coming for the new game, are hybrids going to come out OK? I'm hoping I'm not going to be 20-30 levels lower than my friends because I wanted to play something a little different.
For that matter, will there be any customization of our characters? Will every CL 80 jedi/BH/Commando/whatever have identical skillsets? I don't want to be cookie-cutter!

You can's mix and match any more. you have 10 re-specs and once there dont, you can't change. There making it like WoW and EQ2. Thier ruining the game.

From the looks of it there will not be any mixes, you will have to choose and stick with it ... which takes the uniqueness outof the game in my opinion.

From what I've read there is an ability once you select a profession (Class) to customize what weapons you use. I HOPE it means that there will be choices inside the professions about specializations. That would mean that a smuggler and a BH might both be melee fighters or one might be a carbineer and the other might use pistols.

I realize that hybridization is dead (for everyone, not just us). I'm wondering about the respec and customization within a class.
Will I be a CL 80 jedi as long as I'm at CL 80? (Regardless of what my current combat skills are.)
Will every character within a prof have the exact skillset as any other character of the same level in that class? Or can I be better with a saber than I am with lightning by making skill choices along the way? Or have my commando alt be better unarmed than with heavy weapons?

Those are all questions we'll start to find out when we see the skill trees on test center hopefully as early as tomorrow.
My hope is that you can specialize in various combat styles and chose one that fits you within the profession you chose as your archetype. Think The way skills work in COH or the talent system in WoW. I HOPE it looks something like those systems instead of just paring down the skills we have and putting all of them in each profession and everyone is the same except for a few profession specific skills.

Ya know, I've never actually played another MMO. Been on this one since day 3. If I had different MMOs to compare it to, I may not have stuck with SWG the whole time.
I think I get the drift however. I just need to make sure I'm at CL 80 when this hits live, and hope for the possibilty of specializing within a class. Guess I'll see how far I get in those 2 weeks towards the template I wanted to try out.
