Thread: For everyone who keeps calling for a pre cu server, event, or roll back....

It would be next to impossible to do it. Remember the first day when you had to take all your nice armor and exchange it for post cu level armor? Its pretty much like that for all your weapons, armor, and other items that got changed from an experience type system to a level based system...thats what sucks so much about level based, you were forced into it. I had 20 complete krayt composite sets that i had to convert and loose all kinds of value on the first day. SOE couldnt even convert from pre to post without massive mistakes in programming...just immagine the complete melt down because of their incompetance if they would put it back to pre cu. Dont get me wrong, i would love pre cu...i absolutly hate this new system and blame soe squarely for ruining this game. If frs doesnt come back on in 60 days i am gone just like 80 percent of my mates.

Id start over agian man no problem! i lost about 60 million credits in stuff for pre CU i wouldnt mind going through that agian..

I'd give up everything I had on all of my characters and start over on a pre-CU server. No question.





Tip to LEC/SOE: Sci-Fi MMO players don't necessarily belong to the same resource pool as fantasy MMO players.

yeah, pathetic, most players would start over rather than play in this system.

It just isn't going to happen. Not in the game as a whole, not on a server. Not anywhere. Player worries over starting over, item reversions, and any other similar arguments make no difference whatsoever.


Anyone who's ever worked in a company that develops software, gaming or otherwise, knows perfectly well that you don't maintain two radically different production software code sets. It's simply not economically or managerially viable.


The Pre-CU world is gone forever. Accept it. Move on.

It is sad but its the truth... I really think that it could happen. there was a time when Coke stoped making Coke and made this crap called New Coke that lasted for about 6 months and they released Coca-Cola Classic.. for all you younglings out there thats where the Classic part comes from and within a few months the New Coke Was gone forever... it tasted like pepsi too me


And i hear that the japanese servers are still pre CU so theres your code

you guys are right, they are not bringing it back. and for people to say that they would grind from zero really puts a hard statement of how bad this cu really is. For SOE to roll back to pre cu would be the offical admition of what a horrible failure the post cu was, that their quest for the all mighty dollar got in the way of a real unique game, their stock holders wasted alot of money, they ignored their most loyal customer base about the cu, and they have no talent in the new development staff what so ever...unfortunatly we get to see first hand the absolute destruction of a game from the inside. sort of like being an accountant for enron.

The Japanese still have Pre-CU servers running, from what I hear.


I'm ready to order a copy a learn Japanese, considering how dopey this game has turned out to be post CU.


THE THING IS.......


If we didn't have the old comabt system to compare this junk CU system to, that would be a different story.


THe problem is, MANY of us know how much better the old system was, and months after conversion, people are still complaing about it, and wondering why on God's earth the Devs put this mess the call an "upgrade" on to live servers.


Let's face it, most people still hate, and it's not improving.


In fact, as a returning player, I would daresay the game has more bugs in it now, than it did before the "fix".


What a pathetic joke the CU has turned out be.

I think we were able to “tell” better stories, when we had player interdependency, and multiple, variable classes.

You know what, would be funny?. If the CU did turn out to be a joke, And instead of making the new expansion they had been working on the PRE CU code making it bug free. ANd on the date the expansion is comming out they are actualy releasing the New and Improved Pre CU code.... If only.

Actually, I hate to break it to ya, but I already checked this. After 6+ hours of downloading updates, I found that Japanese servers are NOT Pre-CU. Don't waste your time.


I do, however, wish we had the option to play on a Pre-CU server.
