Yes it does, if I choke vs aura it ticks for about 40 to 80 points of damage and if I breech aura and choke after it would tick for 120 to 130. Powers attacks are useless against a defender anyhow.

Yes, because, powers are considered ranged attacks, proof of that is that in the tree you get General Ranged Accuracy.
Ranged accuracy is countered by Ranged defense.
Aura adds melee and ranged defense.
Therefor... you can understand

It helps in more than one way.
Ranged defense effects ranged Powers hit/miss ratio.
Ranged defense vs ranged accuracy effects dmg taken.
Force Defense is in the same row as Aura, Force Defense effects both hit/miss and damage taken.
Now get 0400 or 0004 Enhancer to go with it and you will never have to worry about a Powers user.

What about Force Valor?
Force Valour modifies your Lightsaber Block. Since we cannot (currently) block lightning with our sabres like Mace / Obi-wan do, Force Valour should have no effect on the damage we take fromForce attacks.
