i'm just throwing this out there. they said people are getting dangerously close or whatever. so that would let me believe that someone is right on the verge of opening their slot. if the 4 quest mission holds up then how can anyone be close. am i mistaken in believing that the other 2 quests are bugged still or at least the courage quest no one knows anything about? so at most does anyone have 2 badges. i know someone in my guild has two. i still only have the intellect but just started looking for altruism. wouldn't that make us halfway there. halfway and dangerously close are worlds apart. i am willing to concede that its possible their are people out there that perhaps have 3 badges or maybe even all 4 and are trying to find the hermit. maybe thats why he has vanished. SOE isn't ready for it to happen till the push the next patch from TC to live. maybe the person close doesn't read the forums or isn't willing to volunteer any information about the last two quests. maybe i'm wrong. just throwing this out there. i certainly hope i'm wrong and the 4 badges are the way to opening your slot. it took me a week to find intellect. it's definately random for everyone. just because its the same quests for everyone doesn't mean people find it in the same location so that would make it random and some people may never find it. perhaps time invested looking isn't enough or the are looking at the wrong time for their server. ????? good luck to whoever finds it first and please enlighten us once you do.

I'm going for a twisted view of the music theory. When your wandering around (exploring)you hear a little cut every 10-20 mins is another tick to the FS slot, every shuttle another song plays etc. Along with mastering a couple things etc. Maybe unnamed NPC missions in there some where as well.

So after 3-4 months of playing hardcore everyday your getting closer. We'll find out in a couple weeks.

Hmmm....what could be more random then a camp spawning in a different location every few hours? Don't see how they could make it much more random than that.

and its not that easy at all. it took me a week just to find the first one. who knows how long the rest will take and then there's finding the hermit again. no easy task and certainly random for everyone. random spawns are RANDOM. who knows if this is all it takes. no one does for sure. we'll all have to just wait and see.

well we all have a base set of coordinates for the first two missions so in essense it isn't that random. just keeping searching the area and you'll find it eventually. one would think. oh well we will all find out whats the true way soon i hope.

I don't think the secret to opening the slot is strictly related to the quests. The Devs (if they are being truthful) said the way is different for everyone. Which would negate doing specific quests only. My theory, yes only a theory, is that it's a combination of things.

Maxing your character, doing a certain amount of quests, exploring, and maybe doing a couple specific quests. This would make it different for each person as they stated. But generic enough that anyone could do it.

Different doesn't mean unique.. The paths can be DIFFERENT while still having SOME things, or even MANY things in common. Some quests being part of the path doesn't negate the paths being different... For something to be different, even a small part must be different.. they NEVER said unique...

I think it pretty safe to say the quests are not the "answer" to unlocking your FSCS, at least by themselves. The reason for it is, once a person unlocks their slot they will probably share exactly what they did with everyone (some may not of-course, but most likely many will). It would be pretty obvious if out of coincidence all the ppl that have the FSCS did these badge missions and recieved all 4 marks and the 1 symbol from the hermit. If that were the case half the server would then be on tat everyday (even if, actually esspecially if, the spawns are random), and that would develope into a very large problem (server issues, lag, etc.). Because of this, I do not believe the "answer" will be that simple.

Noone ever said quests were the only way... but you can't exclude them as PART of the path....

Im guessing badges and static quests are most probably part of it, but doing those alone is not likely to unlock the FSS for many people.

Remember casual gamers by the devs definition wouldnt be able or in most cases willing to search for 4 random spawns and then a fifth random spawn of a hermit.
