Is it possible that the Devs and Julio never have seen Star wars?

Imagine what would have happened to Luke In "Return of the Jedi" If hehad a saber like ours...

Luke: Ok Jabba this is your last chance!"

Luke: Springs off the end of the plank and catches his new green Lightsaber..Ooooo.

Luke: Ah. Hmm. Sorry about that.

There are some...**cough cough***professions, like jedi, that are SUPPOSED to have advantages over other classes. How have we strayed so far away from that?
