Ok I'm not a jedi yet but I don't have to be to state my questions.
Anyways I've noticed in most of the pics I see of jedi I see one or more jedi with lightstaffs. Now this seems odd to me as darth Maul was supposed to be one of few that could use it, and using the lightstaff is supposed to be VERY hard. So why is it so common?
Another thing, can jedi use dual sabers? or is that maybe going to come in pub 10 or 11?
If they can or will be able to, how do they compare to the lightstaff? If the staff is better that would really tick me off, sure the staff is cool but in all common sense dual sabers are just as good as the staff and should be that way in the game too. Other wise EVERYONE will eventually get a staff and you'll end up with armys of jedi and sith with staffs fighting, and I dought that would look very cool. If dual and staff were equal then there would be a bit of variaty in the battles between jedi and sith.
Well let me know what your thoughts are, and I hope a dev takes a look at this, Later

This is probably discussed many times, but what kind of saber should i use to level? I read a guide on these boards that i should use polearm for the damage and area attacks, but somebody also suggested that i should use one handed because it costs less force for things. So what's the trade off between force cost and damage? Which saber should i start out with?

id go with the single saber b/c of its low force cost, more advanced you get with force pts and regeneration-work over to saber staff
or, get the best crystals/pearls with -9 force cost on all of em and do saber staff
all imo of course and is your decision
or, get the best crystals/pearls with -9 force cost on all of em and do saber staff
all imo of course and is your decision

yeah, the better the Pearl , crystal that is more the concearn actully.
I would use one hand at first due to the head hit and low head ham on most things...
but any low force cost (power crystal is all good)..

I had a friend who used single sabre to level up. He's still working on 4002 from 3002. It really is much more efficient for leveling to use polearms. It's all the same xp, and it just goes faster with xx4x

i think polearm saber line is best because it has area attacks early on... at Double saber 1 u get saber polearm spin attack 1.... i still dont have the 2 lvl 4 lines in LS so what i do i get small mobs (550-700 xp at best) and spinattack them.... i got capped melee defense from other profs, stim-D and at least 1500 buffed willpower to get good regen... if u feel overwhelmed by attacking big groups of mobs, u can always escape with a muon or a synthsteak or something that fits the situation and find some mobs that are good to kill in groups (ever since i had novice LS and master fencer + some TKA i ve been hunting quenkers... they are easy and they gave me 570 xp each... ) with a little discipline when grinding u can get double saber 2 in 2 maybe 3 buff runs and with a little more effort u get to double saber 3 and spinattack2.... enjoy
once u hit 0044, make a 1st gen saber use 7 point experimentation and 950+ OQ/CD materials and u should be able to push fc at around 10... with a -5 fc crystal u get to 5 fc and there u go... u have a saber to grind your xp that wontdrain your force pool from the first 4 lairs or so....
however always keep your strongest lightsaber handy, powered with the finest of your crystals/pearls... u never know when u have to use absolute force^^

I went two-handed only. I used a Gen 1 with a -7 FS Crystal 1080/1080 condition. The Gen 1 to Gen 2 is not that big of increase in damage. Wait till you get around 4000 Force before going after a Gen 3 with 3X -7 or great gems/pearls.
I used the single crystal to go from 0/4/0/4 LS to 0/4/0/4 LS, 3/0/0/0 Defender, 3/2/0/3 Healing, 2/2/2/2 Enhancer so they last quite a while.

use polearm. you will get area attacks much sooner and more dmg. This will help lvl faster.
One hand doesn't get an area attack until the 4'th box. So you will be very slow in the grind to get an area attack and actually get some kind of exp off it.

I use 2 hand. flurry at x4xx is the best saber attack bar the attacks form the mastery box. Polearm spin attack is useless and you would get more exp form using leghit3 on each of the indevidual mobs...I know this because on 2 jedi characters I did both polearm first, was a mistake imorealy...I train much faster with x4x4 than xx44....and people with 4x44 prefare to train with 1 hand rather than polearm.
the top box is an area attack for all saber types anyway...you dont even need saber spin attack, so polearm is not a good option imo due to its high force cost, but; high damage outcome.
I personaly recommend 2handed for grinding and for PvP...but it is realy upto you...whichever you choose, you wont make the wrong mistake...they are all similar in different ways...jsut use the 1 you like best

i have a gen 3 duel blade and it haselemental damage of 57 in addition to normal dam, ( or so it says ) Crafted with 2 experiment points in lowering the cost
I have just crfted a gen 4 duel blad and it says that it does not have this elemental damage, there for the gen 4 with 5 experiment points into damage..
There for the Gen 3 has a higher DPS acording to the saber, thatn the Gen 4 ( without crystal )
Does this sound normal, and what is the best way to go for grinding i have 4 premium crystals all with over 100 dam and three have a force cost -9 and the last a cost of -6. I am have grinded the lower half of my template still hav eth long hafe to go
Any imput or possible a link to good posts pertaining saber info, for all saber please.......

If you have channel, really you dont have to worry too much with your saber especially with the crystals you got. But if not just craft a 4th gen with max points into efficiency toss in those crystals you should be good to go. my saber is 11 fc and i hardly ever run out of force unless krayt hunting or killing things non stop.

you need to place a Color Crystal in the completed 4th gen lightsaber before it will show the elemental damage.
